I came across this very early tune with Ian obviously singing on it. I hesitate to call it a "Tull" tune cuz I'm not sure they were even called that when it was recorded. Can anyone share some more info on it?

Hi werbinox....our own quizzkid was the one who uploaded that song, I think Pat put that on his YouTube channel, awhile ago. But what a great find.

This was taken from a CD sampler called "The Derek Lawrence Sampler". It contained 5 tracks by various artists including this one from Tull, credited to Anderson-Barnard. Barnard being Glenn Cornick.
The sampler preceded a 5-CD showcase set of Lawrence's work called "The Derek Lawrence Sessions / Take 1-5"
It states in the liner notes:
"Blues for the 18th [Anderson - Barnard] - Jethro Tull
The odd one out of three tracks recorded by the embryonic Jethro Tull back in 1968: the remaining two tracks appeared on an MGM single - erroneously credited to Jethro Toe."
I think I have added the cover to The Boy Scout Manual, when I get a chance I'll add a link or the cover images here for you.

Thanks for the info, and for uploading that tune. Its redolent of a lost, haunted world, at least it sounds like it to me; an era of music, and of life, gone forever. The more time goes by the more I love this old blues-rock stuff, especially "embryonic" Tull music, back when they didn't yet know what they were doing or what they would become. Thanks again!
