For my 50th, my wife surprised me by having some of my t-shirts turned into a quilt. I haven't spoken to her since.

Are you kidding? It's a classic. Now you can wrap up and wear all your Tull tees at once. She deserves breakfast in bed for a week. Thing is, how did she get this done and you not know about it.

Haha, TM, you dinosaur!
Pat, haha, are you thinking what happened to the shirt you sent me might happened to this quilt? I swear if I was to do it again it would come out better. I was a bit heavy handed with the scissors.
Is the top left the cartoon Ian? Derek Pith sent me that one but I didn't and don't want to cut that one. It will remain intact. Part of me thinks this is awesome, part of me is like, oh no! Poor shirts. haha.

Do you use the quilt? Is the underside fleece or flannel or quilting cotton or anything?

Do you use the quilt? Is the underside fleece or flannel or quilting cotton or anything? No, I keep it in our spare room for Tull guests when they visit. The underside is made from the backs of all the shirts. The woman who made it has been making hand-made quilts for years.

Is that a mural on the wall? Am I gonna ever stop with the questions? Yes, that's my wife again. She painted a scene (from memory) of a fantastic place we stayed in Napa a couple of times. The Carneros Inn. One of the best places I've been.

Nice! Some rare shirts in there. Yes Erin, one I created myself and sold-out of during the 1997 Vermont convention.

Yes Erin, one I created myself and sold-out of during the 1997 Vermont convention. Ah, which one did you create? I have a bunch of ratty tull shirts, some nice as new ones, a couple convention shirts, and a couple unique custom made ones. Something like this may be a possibility for me someday. I have a white Crest of a Knave shirt signed (in marker) by Ian around 1987/88 and actually wore it around until the signature faded away. That was pretty dumb! Now the shirt is like tissue paper. lol. I made the dark blue "MU" styled one with Ian standing inside the "U". I wanted clean, simple designs that we almost "smart-casual". In all I created 4 different shirts and a baseball cap. I think the pieces totaled1,600, and I came home with about 8 pieces.

That quilt is fantastic! I wish I'd got my mum (who was a patchwork quilter) to make something like that before she departed...
