Interestingly enough there's no mention of Homo Erraticus on the LiveNation website. Their billing this show as an Ian Anderson Best of JT Show. Montclair, NJ ShowThis could present some trouble if a bunch of people head on out thinking their going to be hearing an entire evening of Tull's most famous songs performed the same as they are on record. Hello to all. For the moment, I know there a date for the Tour in my Country, Italy in the middle 'of July, and I think others will follow. It seems to be a "Best of" and "Homo erraticus" of course. Very well, I say ... However I have tickets for May 14 in Manchester. Very good, I say again ... dweenie

Hi Michele, I think you're going to enjoy the show very much. Ian and the band will have had about 2 weeks to get get comfortable with the new material. Looking forward to your review as always. Paul

Thank you Paul! I will certainly. Comment on a show that promotes a new album is definitely a unique thing !

We'll see... Paul, is the tour being marketed differently overseas, i.e., with the emphasis is on Homo Erraticus, instead of Best of Tull? If so, I wonder if it has anything to do with how Ian perceives an American audience would react to a title that includes the word Homo. Jeff

My greatest fear about the new album is that all of the songs that have Latin titles will be spoken word pieces. I say this because I imagine it would be difficult to sing in a different language, and also because Ian (or maybe it was Gerrald) mentioned something about this being a prog album which would include "long winded soliloquies" as part of the live performance. I hope I am wrong about this!
Jeff
P.S. Of course it is entirely possible that Ian/Gerrald may have been joking when he/they mentioned the soliloquies.

Interesting point made about marketing the shows differently. Looks like the US shows are all be billed as Best-of shows: Ticketmaster USAWhereas the UK shows don't mention the best of material. If you click on the "Read more" button, it describes the new album. gigantic UK

I expect to hear HomoE and Best Of, and cautioned friends not to commit if they only wanted to hear Best Of.

My guess is it's a bit of both. I think it was Derek Pith who told us that TAAB2 ticket sales weren't great, so perhaps the US fan is just not interested in the new album? I don't know, but whatever the reason, I think it's a mistake to misrepresent what the show truly is.
And in both cases the details of the show are not being represented accurately.

It appears there are only around 64 seats left for the Huntington, L. I. Show, mainly last few rows of the balcony. Dan

Strange sort of venue yes? I was looking at the seating for a different artist and so the rows were perpendicular to the stage... Perhaps there are tables involved?

Jeff[/quote] I remember that together with TaaB2 2 Tour in Italy, we have had " The Best Of ", but they were two differents kind of concerts.

That's an excellent point Michele, and according to the official site, there will be both types of concerts again - a Homo/Best of Tour and then some shows which are just Best-of shows as well. But the US and UK are both billed as the same exact show. IA 2014 Tour dates

Any word on if the show is coming to Boston? I see they're already selling tix for a Providence show but, being lazy, would rather not travel that far. Don't want to miss the show though, if that's the only one in the [approximate] area.

From there, it's possible they may shoot up to your area, or they could start heading west. I have a feeling that there could be a show or two in Connecticut, and maybe the Albany area and Westchester or Rockland County before they head down to NYC and NJ, but it is all guesswork at this point. I just purchased some tickets for the Albany, NY Show and the other couple of loser people like myself , were a little taken back when I told them that they would probably be featuring the new cd in the first set. They had no clue that there were any Ian Anderson Solo Albums and were disappointed that it wasn't advertised like that.
Who knows? Maybe they will just be doing a Best Of Tour in the States because of all the intolerant , uneducated , mass of unwashed flesh that exist in the US.

"Anderson staged the piece as a multimedia experience including a massive screen, costumes and monologues from band members. The 600-strong audience were at first confused about if and when to applaud."
