Ian and Ryan singing Aqualung: Not sure if that's Florian on guitar or Jonathon Noyce. Time to put that song to bed. I'd rather remember the fiery renditions of this song I saw 35 or even 25 years ago. There is nothing redeemable or enjoyable listening to this, neither poor Ian's gasps nor the choir boy who sings along with him. That's what caused me to say not too long ago that the idea of calling any future shows "best of Tull" is simply an oxymoron. Let's be honest - most of Ian's vocal parts are very painful to watch.

by the way ..when you listen to the locomotive breath intro...don't you wish to see John Evans and Martin Barre back ? Thanks for posting those Pierre. The LB video says it's 'private' so we cannot view it. Interesting to watch the audience during Aqualung however. It's amazing to me to see every just sitting there during that song....I mean not even a fist pump.

Yes, after reading more reports, that's right. I hope a few HE songs appear as well. I'd actually rather HE plus Best Of, myself.

How much are the tickets these days? A friend of mine is flying up to NY tomorrow and is going to catch a show while she's there. $750 for a ticket to Hamlet. I once saw Iron Butterfly and Black Oak Arkansas for a buck fifty. My horse was lame at the time so I had to walk to the show. It was up hill both ways. I don't think I would pay $750 to watch Madonna announce her retirement and apologize for extending the life of disco. Neil Young's announcement that he will give up the guitar and take a bath this year, maybe.

Washington state, home of the Maryhill Winery and the second state to legalize marijuana welcomes Ian and other original members of Jethro Tull on September 13th according to the Digital Journal. The Journal inform concert goers that this show will begin an hour later than some of the other acts, "to ensure the sky is inky black for the spectacular video and LED light show accompanying the music experience. With a huge cinema-quality screen and synchronized moving lights in the background, Anderson will play two sets for this electric performance. The first will be from his newly released and critically-acclaimed album, "Homo Erraticus," and the second set will include all the Jethro Tull classics from his time as the band's legendary front man."Read more: digitaljournal.com/pr/2044419#ixzz376FujcZWWhen TJTB contacted the Digital Journal to confirm this press release we were told that copywriter could not come to the phone because he had a serious case of the munchies.

To answer Jeff's question, "What's Next for Ian," this seems to be it. The band sounds pretty good, however they need to drop With You There To Help Me because of the vocals which you can hear in this video. David Goodier is now helping Ian out with the singing.

Hi all! I was at the concert for "Homo Erraticus" Tour this past Saturday, July 19, and as always it's been a great show. Oddly enough there was a total lack of information on the part of the Organization, because everyone, including me, thought it was a "The Best Of". We arrived at "concert area" towards mid afternoon, just in time to see and hear the sound check, and from here it was clear that there would be presented HE of all. I, having already witnessed two concerts during the English Tour of the month of may, I had no surprises, the concert it was magnificent. I also believe that it was as a "full" form of show, for a fan of Ian Anderson, just 'cause the first part covered the new Album, and the second a fine selection of famous songs to say the least! Really, what more! Here's the track list in addition to HE: "Living in the Past. Whith you here to Help Me. SFTW. Teacher. "Critique Oblique". TOTRTYTD. Sweet Dreams. Farm on the Freeway. Aqualung. Aqualung. Movies in the background are a true highlight of the show. It was in my opinion really ingenious idea of combining vintage footage with two IA onstage, the current singing live, and the other behind it years and years ago that was the same, even in the movement of the lips went in perfect coordination. After dozens of concerts in which I have seen so far of JT/IA I can only say that Ian is still able to impress both new and his old Fans.

Thanks Chea, Im glad to hear Ian is continuing to invest in a visual/theatrical show. That's Right, Biggles. This is an aspect that appreciates much in performances of Ian. Change, even just in the details very often. If I remember correctly, in two concerts I've seen in may, the videos were not planned so carefully. smileyvault-worthy

The band does sound good, except I still don't like Florian's electric guitar -- which to me sounds out of place in Tull songs. And those vocals on With You There to Help Me. Oy, vey. I guess Ryan couldn't make this show? Jeff

That's great David is singing. The band is fantastic but Ian's voice is really letting things down. Its wierd, when I saw them in 2011 I was dreading Ian's voice but he was actually good that night. He sounds great on Homo but I was really disappointed with the voice in Birmingham back in May and the clips i've seen of the tour since haven't been any better. Its like his dynamic range and tonality has dropped 90% from the singer he once was. His vocal chords must be so wrecked. I really think the time has come to get a full time singer for Ian's band. Zappa had many singers, it worked well for him. Sure its a big shift away from what Ian has always done being the singer songwriter but he's still such a talented musician. I can see it really working with Ian doing the chat and singing just in the choruses or occasional harmony and putting all his focus into the music. Failing that, I can't see this lasting much longer. Its actually damaging to the legacy. I was just listening to COK this afternoon, Ian's voice is great. Its hard to accept its the same singer.

When I first heard Catfish I remember wondering how Ian would be able to pull these songs off in concert, and I had the same exact reaction with the new album. So I wouldn't say I'm surprised to learn he's struggling, but honestly, based on With You There To Help Me, he truly should stop singing. I don't think what he's doing even classifies as singing. As for the legacy, Tull has been over for four years so I don't think anything Ian does now will change the legacy.
