Okay, this is the Jethro Tull website so maybe some fellow Tull freaks who've attended the homo erraticus tour can help me out. Here's the deal. Ian doesn't sound too good on youtube clips of this current tour but that might be deceiving. I loved the taab/taab2 tour and I didn't mind Ian's voice then. It wasn't perfect but it was good enough for me. My concern is that he really didn't seem to take off much time to rest his throat in between tours. On the youtube clips he sounds like he's really struggling and he's almost talking through the lyrics. So, I'm wondering, is his voice passable? is it the same as the taab tour? or not? I'm on the fence about buying tickets. On the one hand, I love this current lineup of musicians and would love to see them do Tull classics along with the Erraticus album but, on the other hand, will the state of Ian's voice make me cringe? That's my quandary. Thanks!

I have been a jt fan since my teen years. saw them last night in atl and thoroughly enjoyed it. his voice, although not what it was was quite passable to me! he was greatly helped by young ryan and got quite a few breaks where he could rest, and then...step up and give it his best! I was on the 6th row. buy the tics...I saw NO ONE walk away disappointed!

If you're as big a Tull fan as you sound, you'll enjoy the show. "Best Of" seems to be an ever changing set-list but, I was exremeley happy to hear some APP as was the audience I attended with. I really enjoyed Scott Hammonds work on vintage Tull, John O'hara & David Goodier were suberb on HomoE. Hope this helps!

It's getting tempting. The choice of classics is a long long list. It would be interesting to see how far back he reaches. My pick for a classic on the obscure side would be "something's on the move." "Steel Monkey" and "Hot night in Budapest" would be cool picks too. Ha, I've been a fan for 40 years and I can go on and on with my wish list!

Yes, I'm taking the plunge. When Ian arrives at our shores in December, it will be summer here. Will the change of seasons affect his throat? who knows? I bought three front row centre tickets anyhow. I can only recall 7 shows here since 1972, so there's no argument!

Pretty much one great review after another. Everybody's enjoying even the critics these days. Vocals all surprisingly good. Really using more harmonies which made SFTW and TOTRAR terrific. ian's voclas were much better than I thought they'd be. Teacher and parts of PP are destined for set list next year. All of HE was very good.

Ian's voice may well be shit. Prepare yourself for the worst. However, you know its going to be musically hot! It seems the HE stuff has been cut down for the first half on the US show which is a shame. The backdrop video stuff is really cool. You're bound to get a fix from the best of stuff in the 2nd half. Will it be the best IA/Tull show you ever saw? Probably not. Will it have moments of joy? You bet! Will it likely be one of the last times you get to see IA? Most certainly. The clock is ticking, get your ticket now.

I saw Ian Anderson and Band in both Charlotte. Oct. 3 and Durham, Oct. 4. I have no complaints about his voice. His voice was strong both nights. I am thrilled beyond my best expectations with the whole band's musicianship and Ian and Ryan's singing. Ian sang 90% of HE and probably 60-70% of the rest of the show. Ian is not the same as when he was 30, but for a 67 year old who has been performing for nearly 50 years he does a wonderful job on stage. I've seen three of their concerts in the last two years and I will go the next time they come back.

If Ian and Band perform as well as they did last weekend, you will be over joyed. I've learned that you can't judge by the youtube clips. Hearing them live in the concert hall is a totally different world.
