I know all the "regulars" out there will remember the tribute cd ,"To Cry You A Song; A Collection of Tull Tales" from 1996 but this is for someone who may not have heard of it. My favorite clip from that cd, Minstrel in The Gallery.

hi Dan, i wanna listen to this, but i haven't even heard the original MITG yet! that album is next on my list.
i've been fully immersed in WarChild for about a week and a half now, and i feel like i should give it a little more time before jumping into the next album. my copy of WC does not have the bonus tracks on it, so i need to find those somewhere too, otherwise how can i move on?!!
i just looked at the track listing of the Tull Tales collection, and of course Minstrel is the *only* song i haven't yet heard! well, except for the first track A Tull Tale -- that is not a Tull song, is it?? i assume it's an original piece by Magellan, since they have two songs listed here?
Dan, thank you for posting this, but i will have to check this particular one out later!! i'm very interested in the whole thing though, to hear how the other players interpret these songs. a little apprehensive too, in spite of the big names. covers can be tough!

Hello, Absolutely listen to the original first. You are going to love the Minstrel cd. Cover songs are tough but these guys nailed it and I forgot all about it until it came up on playlist the other day. It must be exciting listening to all the albums for the first time! Dan

yeah, i am looking forward to it!!! i am trying to spend a little time with each "new" album, to assimilate and understand it as much as i can before i move on to the next.
however, the more i think about it, i feel like i need to pause and backtrack just a bit, and concentrate more on TAAB and especially APP and the Chateau recordings (which i have, but have yet to listen to). i loved WarChild, but i need to rein myself in get up to speed on that preceding era -- it's such a creatively DENSE period, there is so much to take in. i want to understand where WarChild came from.
i will make my way to Minstrel eventually! i can't wait!!
