The previously unreleased tracks on the Warchild and Too old.. remastered box sets have been really strong. I'm not aware that there are any more tracks left to mine for the (hopeful) Songs from the Wood and Heavy Horses releases. I think Stormwatch could feature Apocalypse and the Waters Edge suite.
Do any of you fine fellow and ladies know of any additional unreleased tracks that could make an apperance?

Do any of you fine fellow and ladies know of any additional unreleased tracks that could make an apperance? Quoting from the Jethro Tull Reference Manual by Greg Russo there are two outtakes from the Broadsword and the Beast era, "D.J." and "Dinosaur." Another song about trains from the I.A. Solo, Walk Into Light called, "8:40 From Nowhere (Inverness Sleeper)" and an "End Game (Instrumental)." And at least five unidentified tracks from the Roots to Branches session and at least two more from Dot Com, ( I am uncertain about when the book was published but "It All Trickles Down" may have been one of the unreleased ones.) For me, personally, the song that I want to hear the most is the aforementioned "Apocalypse" from the Stormwatch album and hopefully there is a near completed track somewhere "up in Ian's attic." If I am not mistaken and cannot find where I heard it from (perhaps Dave Rees's book Minstrels in the Galley) but I think there was a title called "The Six o'clock News" from Stormwatch. So despite the composer stating that there isn't any unreleased stuff left- there seems to be some trinkets out there. Prior to the release of the new deluxe TOTR&R , I had never heard of Commercial Traveller or Salamander's Ragtime so maybe there are more surprises if Dave Rees, James Duncan, Steve Wilson or Paul, Jeff, Pat, Charlie, you or me , want to rummage around the dusty old ( hopefully temperature regulated) attic of Mr. A's. We talked about this briefly in an old thread here: thejethrotullboard.proboards.com/thread/1115Dan

Must say I really like some of the tracks on TOTR&R far better than past releases. I like Salamander's Ragtime and the alternative version of the newly spelled Quiz Kid.

Wish Ian just ditched the idea of soundtracks in 74 and 76. We would have got 2 actual tull albums full of great songs and not 2 soundtracks with several unlike tull songs that sound below par for their/my standards. The band would have got a lot more love from the prog community back then in those 2 years. These great outtakes would never get heard by some who gave up on tull thinking the band had lost their way after 73. It's great we have these songs now and we may have had more in 76 if Ian didn't concentrate on songs for the soundtrack. But it would have come off better if they were released back then. Lots of people judge bands on albums and just ignore outtakes. I judge bands on songs
