I'm going to see The Helsinki concert of the Jethro Tull 50th Anniversary Tour. I remember when I saw the 20th Anniversary Tour 1988 in Nurnberg. Then their slogan was "Oh no, not another 20 years of Jethro Tull".
And I thought that they were older than Moses already then.

I am still on the fence as to whether I will go to the 50th Anniversary show at The Beacon in November. The thought of hearing this non-Tull band playing Tull standards is not that appealing to me -- I just don't care for Florian Ophale's harsh, shredding guitar sound which I found unsuitable to Tull music - but then, again, I think my 15 year old son would enjoy seeing Ian, even in his far diminished capacity. He has been discovering Tull the last couple of years, and is getting into it, just as I was at his age. So, I may still go, but I better hurry up and buy a couple of tickets....if I can bring myself to do it! Jeff

Wow...when you posted this I did not realize that the Helsinki show is coming up so soon....March 5th, am I right? That's only a few weeks from now. I'd like to get your thoughts on it....and maybe if you post your review here it will get some discussion going. Looking forward to it! Jeff

I just realized that The Helsinki Kulttuuritalo concert 1994 I saw was part of their 25th anniversary tour.

I wonder what Ian means, when he says there will be virtual guests? Holograms of old band members. Probably just videos.

3rd row front of the stage. And didn't even have to pay for the tickets.

I went to the concert in Oslo, Norway, 3rd of March 2018. 8th row centre.
On my 39th concert since I started to go to Tull-concerts in 1980, they (he) did for the first time play something from the A Passion Play album. That was great.
Else it was a good concert. I did not expect it to be anything like the concert in 1980.
What is a good Tull-concert then ? Depends on who you ask....
About virtual guests...funny...go to a concert, then you will find out...
