This is a must-buy just for the ending after Locomotive Breath on the CD!!! I thought you'd like the Barrie solo. That was the one I trying to send that was too large. Dan

Heads up warning. I just received my UK copy of the MSG show and I am able to watch it on my computer , but the thing you can't read from the Amazon thumbnail is that the first three songs are audio only! Both on the PAL and NTSC versions. So no video of Sweet Dream, One Brown Mouse or Heavy Horses. Also, the last two songs which state are video-Too Old.., and My God/Cross-Eyed Mary also appear to be audio only but I would like confirmation from any PAL region folk on that. Tracks 4 through 11 play fine but this is stuff that I have in about three different formats and bought the DVD for the other 'unreleased 'stuff. Very misleading and very disappointing. If you have never seen the video, by all means get DVD, but there is nothing new for the die hards. I haven't listened to the cd yet so that may make up for some of it. Dan I watched...or maybe listened is the better word to describe the DVD last night. It was pretty disappointing as Dan mentioned. Not a whole lot of anything new on video except maybe for the very beginning and end. It's too bad they did have the camera's rolling the entire time. My advice is to buy this for the CD rather than the DVD.

Paul and Jeff.I really agree what are you saying. :'(The DVD is a piece of Jethro Tull history,an high part of it.Ian's singing is awesome, The lights, band's members completely amalgamated,it works everything but...short footage.

Here's a review of the DVD: OK, I admit it — I’m somewhat of a bootleg junkie, especially when it comes to rare concert video. Jethro Tull’s quirky satellite broadcast from New York City’s Madison Square Garden in 1978 is a rare one I eventually found. This was of particular interest to me because I had seen Tull the same year, and they were sensational. When I spoke to Ian Anderson in 2003, I asked him about the likelihood of shows like this and other Tullian trinkets ever finding their way to the legitimate marketplace. He almost had me convinced it wasn’t in the cards. I don’t know, maybe he just hadn’t looked at the footage yet. Who cares — the “official” Live At Madison Square Garden 1978 is here...... Jethro Tull Live at MSG

Excellent review TM. I have to say I think this DVD is great. It is wonderful to see this material properly presented compared to the substandard boots that have been around for years. And it is too bad the whole show wasn't filmed, but that was the BBC's decision. Remember this was a 1978 first time satellite broadcast and a very rare, first time event. We are lucky to have it. Now if Ian would just release the 1977 Sight and Sound show which I think is better filmed in a more intimate setting and also includes John Glascock. Only an hour, but great stuff.

I get your thoughts Monkey, understand what your saying. In my opinion... it´s ah... a bit dissapointing, anyway... I think, at this rythm, the world may never see again the best of Tull.

Shark Hi, just wanna say I was stupidly enough not to listen the entire version dambusters march, which is pretty cool and a "rescueable" thing of this record. I mean, TM said something about it time ago, but I didn´t listen it until today. Cheers, Shark

Was the CD really necessary? I saw a show from this tour within a month of this recording and it was basically the same as the Bursting Out show. I can see releasing the video, but adding the CD just increased the price for little to no added value.
Now officially releasing the Tull-a-vision '76 show....that would be a whole different kettle of fish.

Whether or not it's good or if we've ever seen it before, it's good to have a release of Tull from the Heavy Horses era on DVD.
