Hi, Preston, Congratulations for the success and recognition that Rob is beginning to have. He's an excellent young songwriter and lyricist, so it doesn't surprise me, and if I'm not mistaken, I kind of predicted it! I will make sure that TJTB channel subscribes to Rob's youtube channel soon, and that I do the same, if I haven't already. Jeff

Thanks for your support Quizz and Jeff..Rob was really chuffed to read your comments .
Here is a new tune recorded today called Storyteller. I think it has lots of Tull influence in it. Hope folks enjoy it.
Lyrics-
Darling won't you tell me? If you're craving a story or two. But please ensure you warn me... Well, you know what I'm likely to do.
Because recounting and reconstructing, And wrapping it up to be amusing has never been... One of my qualities.
I may not be the kind, Of man you had expected would play a prominent role in your life. Perhaps it's 'cause I'm slightly shy, But ranconteur I'm certainly not and I'm often left wondering why.
Well, I can take you anywhere. But I can never make you laugh. I will identify with flair- the times I've failed to make you laugh. You make me feel I ought to start... But somehow I've appeared to win your heart.
Well is there something lacking? When I'm flustered and floundering. I'm hapless and it's happening. And I'm as mute as a man can be. I know it's futile and it's frustrating, But equally useless is debating, As writers block. Invades my eloquence.
I may not be the kind, Of man you had expected would be running around in your mind. I don't mean to say I'm unkind, But ranconteur I'm certainly not and I'm often left wondering why.
Well, I can take you anywhere. But I can never make you laugh. I will exemplify with care- the times I've failed to make you laugh. You make me feel I ought to start... But somehow I've appeared to win your heart.
Now, I don't know what you've been thinking, All I know is that I'm sinking, And it's plain to see- I'm just not funny anymore...

Rob also recorded this alternate version of Storyteller. This version was his original sketched demo version of the song. Thought some might be interested to see how the song evolved. its likely that he will stick with the uptempo version or possibly combine elements of both in any reworked version
Lyrics-
Darling won't you tell me? If you're craving a story or two. But please ensure you warn me... Well, you know what I'm likely to do.

Youve got me thinking like a fool I ve even simplified my tunes My thoughts are occupied by you And Ill be lucky not to lose My Mind My Mind My Mind I like to sing from time to time I like to dance from time to time but never when I am in your eyes but never when I am in your eyes

Here is Embrace the Apparent. This is still very much a work in progress tune.
You walk into the room And you see calm Then you sink into the gloom And stare at her arms as they wrap around his neck Resentment boils the blood And emotion stirs your legs and you saunter of But now is the time to face your worst fears But now is the time To hold back those tears
And just embrace the apparent But now is the time to face your worst fears But now is the time To hold back those tears
But now is the time Now is the time Now is the time Now is the time to just embrace the apparent

Thanks ... just uploaded another demo tune What did you notice......Rob is really proud of how this ones turned out..Hope Tullsters find time to listen and comment on his demo CD We will! I think Rob's stuff is great and always enjoy listening, reading his lyrics and commenting. I like to be able to spot the resemblances to Ian's songwriting that sometimes surface, albeit subtly, in Rob's lyrics, whether he intends to do it or whether he does it subconsciously. But I can't do it on the fly. I need a block of time to properly listen, analyze, etc. I like to give it the time and attention it deserves! Stay tuned.... Jeff

At 3.45 today Home Truths was at 1,769 in Amazons best sellers rank for MP3 albums. Not sure what this really means but I guess it has sold a few copies since its release , it has since slipped down this ranking but even to be in it is great.
First reviews are beginning to appear.
***** B. Machin Home Truths" is an excellent debut album from Robert Lloyd. The talented lyricst muses on love and life with a well-fitting acoustic style and even the odd foray into prog infused soft rock. An album perfect for any listenin alternative album from a budding new talent.

Having heard the album a few weeks ago I have to say make the effort to have a listen folks, it is a nice piece of work and well worth a listen. I'd love to do a full review, but my time doesn't permit that at present, all I can say is go out of your way to have a listen and im sure you'll enjoy it.
