Here is the website Of Glenn Cornicks Wild Turkey: www.wildturkey.mu/And here the myspace: www.myspace.com/glenncornickswildturkeyI think their first album "Battle Hymn" was a classic. I haven't heard the next album "Turkey". The new album sounds good, based on the songs on websites. And Clive Bunker also plays on it. Here the first song of Battle Hymn:

Thanks for the info. You know, I don't think I've ever heard even one of their songs.

Thanks for the info. You know, I don't think I've ever heard even one of their songs. Same here, I know very little about Wild Turkey, except for one of their newer albums which I heard a little bit of and didn't really like too much. Not enough to make a fair assessment, really. I would bet their old stuff is great though. Jeff

Here the first song of Battle Hymns: Thanks for your informative posts about Wild Turkey, STJ, this is a great thread. It's a band that gets scant attention on most Tull discussion forums, which is surprising since Glenn is such a great bass player and such an important member of the original band. I've always been curious about their first two albums, but they are out of print and you really can't get them anymore except if you're willing to pay a lot for used copies. I'm definitely going to check out their songs on youtube, so thanks for that info too! Jeff

I bumped into Wild Turkey for the first time 1986 when I was travelling on interrail. My aunt's boyfriend in Switzerland had lots of vinyls and "Battle Hymn" was one of the albums I recorded on cassette.
A few years later my car broke down in the middle of nowhere in Finland and I had to hitch-hike to my hometown. When I got back to pick up my car someone had broken in and stolen all the cassettes and the player. Among them the "Battle Hymn". Sadly my aunt had also changed boyfriend, so I couldn't get from there.
Only last spring I found that album again from Youtube. I downloaded them and made an audio-CD. Now I have also "Turkey".
Listening to Battle Hymn as we speak.

Just listening to Wild Turkey: "You & Me in the Jungle" (2006). This is a great album. If you have Spotify it is here I really should sample some Wild Turkey, old and new. I have to say that I am quite unfamiliar with their albums. I have to listen to some of their stuff on youtube. Still haven't gotten around to that. Speaking of youtube, do The Pyknics have any vids up there? I would like to post some of your stuff here, if possible, but I think the only vids we can put here have to be on youtube first in order to download to our site. I just listened to Fat Bad Man on your Myspace page....very cool song! Jeff

Ex-drummer will play guitar and sing (he sings half the songs, for instance FBM. I sing the other half). Singing lead and drumming just is a lot to do. No videos yet in Youtube. I'll let you know when we get something up.

While having heard about Wild Turkey (in connection to both Tull and Sabbath) and seeing many pictures of them on Glenn's website, I've never heard any of their songs until I clicked on the link you just posted, and I'm amazed! This is such a great song, thank you for introducing me to such a great band
