cool stuff , how was the show Not good. A mixed bag of a line-up, a band called River City People, Hall & Oates, Debbe Harry sans 'Blondie', Tull and Fleetwood Mac as headliners, the stage was quite high, and the place was far from full by the time Tull hit the stage in daylight to make it a bit of lost opportunity to play such a large venue. I can't say much about the other bands, I arrived in time for and left almost immediately after the Tull segment. Where we were standing I saw no other clealry identifable fans who were there for Tull. most stood around chatting during the Tull segment. I can't confirm it because it was in the days before I acted like a trainspotter at gigs and made notes but I searched the web to come across this as regards a set list 1. Thick As A Brick 2. Living In The Past 3. Steel Monkey 4. Serenade To A Cuckoo 5. Rock Island 6. Pussy Willow / Pibroch Instrumental 7. Bouree 8. My God 9. Fat Man 10. Too Old To Rock'n'Roll; Too Young To Die 11. Aqualung From a Fleetwood Mac siteI'm not sure if I have a gig review amongst the boxes of clippings I have but will try to check that out, in the meantime I'd have to say it wasn't one to go down as a classic and i doubt whether it brought many new people into the bands fanbase at the time.

Back in the early days of domestic or consumer videography, there were a lot of magazines doing the rounds which only managed to get away from being banished to the 'top shelf' by having a few bits which weren't soley related to T&A. This copy of the UK magazine, 'Video Review' from October 1981, was one such mag, a couple of pages devoted to music, new releases and how to wire up a Betamax gave it credence in any tech geeks briefcase....the scantily clad women were merely a distraction to the main feature....... Video Review October 1981 Video Review October 1981 - New releases Video review October 1981 - Coming next month...ahem!

Flyer from Ian's Orchestral gig at The Fairfield Halls, Croydon in 2002. The grey of the flyer matches the greyness of Croydon...bleak isn't the word...for Croydon that is.

I have a few books on Tull. Here's some pics: The Zill book is a German publication with English text and German, and has photos of the band from the late 60's early 70's, and then the mid to late 80's. Wonderful coffee table sized book. The Flying Colours book has recently been updated is an amazing book about Tull. History of the band, recordings, trivia, etc... Sorry for the fuzzy pics. A bit shaky these days. This is the only tour book that has survived, a later one from 200 I believe.

"Popster" was a spanish music magazine that featured a curious format, in fact it was a big folded poster, that at opening it you did read inside a complete review about the band, good stuff, here it's the pic with the popster Tull cover issue. The mag costed then 25 pesetas How cheap it was!! Cheers up

suppose i'm getting off topic a little. We don't worry about that around here, Tulltapes, so keep 'em coming! Great stuff. I love you front page magazine collection. I have a modest collection myself which includes most of those, but not all of them, and maybe one or two different things too. Jeff

What a trip to see this again. I can recall a friend and I shouting things like "Is carpentry the soul of his mask" at Kenny Wylie and other stage operatives, exposing them to actual Tull fiends, not mere fans.
