Oh my God, we all own the same stuff. Must be a cult. Cult of Tull. I managed to get two each of Steel Monkey & Said She Was A Dancer right here in the heart of Toronto. (87? 88?) I passed on that rather pricey at the time cassette. Nice to see it now. I have the Said She Was A Dancer four track CD Single 1987. (includes Dogs In the Midwinter - Down At the End Of Your Road - Too Many Too) And for those keeping a scorecard, I prefer the sound of these songs here over all other CD versions. s1015.photobucket.com/albums/af278/tootull/?action=view¤t=SaidSheWasADancer.jpg

I've got an EP of that Lap of Luxury single, with the same outside jacket of the "wrapped" Tull members on the front lawn of that English manor.
But mine has only one record inside, not two , and it does not open up in that manner, so I don't have the inner gatefold. It's just the outside sleeve with the single record inside, also with Tundra, Automotive Engineering and Astronomy.
I guess it was released in different formats, but I am not an expert on these matters. That is really tootull's department. I like to think of him as our resident expert when it comes to all matters concerning Tull releases and quality of sound!

A couple of items released by Chrysalis, intended for radio promotion and use. The first up is a banded version of 'A Passion Play': A Passion Play - Front CoverI think some copies exist with the numbered banded tracks titled, as in 'Lifebeats' etc. Next is a compilation of tracks under the banner of "Jethro Tull Radio Show", released at the time of 'M.U.' it has Ian talking about several tracks on the album. Front cover - 'Jethro Tull Radio Show' 'Jethro Tull Radio Show' - Label

Great comparison, I listened to ti again for the first time in ages today and thoughts ran through my head of who it might sound like, I didn't make the connection, but I think you have hit the nail on the proverbial head. Glad to have made that 16 year wait worthwhile. I think it's a great song and so of its time. Seems odd that it never got an offical release in some way prior to this sampler.

I have that blue box edition and it contains the best sounding (CDP32 1044 2) Aqualung CD next to the gold CD, (compare Up to Me and you might prefer this disc). Same mastering as the West German Sanyo & West German Sonopress
