Not the easiest one to tackle for Tull fans. This time you may select up to 2 tracks. And again, please post comments about your selections, and if you don't see your favorite, select "other" and include it in your post. Happy polling! Note: Looks like I forgot the "Other" selection and now I can't add it!

I had to go with Wond'ring Aloud and Home.
"and I shake my head" - so typical a reaction to the one you love.
"and let your first smile take me home" - I love that line. Something I always think of when I've been away from home.

TM, these are such good choices.
"Home" was hands down the easier choice. But the second choice was much more difficult. "At Last, Forever" was my other pick.
Some good break-up songs, good young slam-bang songs, good older guy lust songs, as well as good love songs.
If somebody had just asked me the question without giving me a choice, I would have said Fire At Midnight instead of At Last, Forever. I don't often think of that one.
I would pick "Home" for exactly what you said.
I would pick "At Last, Forever" because Ian sings of a love that will live even beyond death.

But you made things more interesting as the "race tightens." I wish I had not forgotten Moths though. That one deserved inclusion. I have to see if I can add it....

I had to give my vote to Wond'ring Aloud because I think it ranks with the greatest love songs of all time. It is a song of sheer beauty and simplicity. I love the sensuality of it, the stroking of the hair, the watching of the sunset ("sipping" the sunset, how perfect!), the sound of the two beating hearts, the "tasting of the smell" of the toast....all five senses are involved. At my wedding, the band played it as our first dance.
I also love it because it gave rise to two equally beautiful sequels, Wond'ring Again and The Jasmine Corridor. Jasmine Corridor is the perfect bookend to Wond'ring Aloud, but takes place in the future. It gives the feeling of the same two people looking back retrospectively over a long period of togetherness, whereas Wond'ring Aloud was prospective, contemplating a long life together. Wond'ring Again fits in somewhere in between, the birth of their first child! And the release dates of the songs, like the events in their lives, are chronologically in order!
My next choice would have been Reasons for Waiting, another exquisitely beautiful song by Ian, but I think Inside should definitely have been included in the poll, because I love the beauty, simplicity and optimism of that one as well!
I have often said that nobody writes love songs like Ian, and he approaches the subject from all angles, if you consider songs like Teacher and Witch's Promise, Bends Like a Willow, Slow Marching Band, White Innocence, The Dog Eared Years, etc., etc.

Nope, polls cannot be modified, sorry.
Next time I'll be sure to include "Other" as a choice.
As far is the love songs topic, I thought I would try to steer clear of the lustier tracks, which we can use on an upcoming poll.

Wondering Aloud. Puts life and love into the simplest of expression.

The music in Reasons (ignoring the words) sounds romantic in its own right. The picture painted in Fires At Midnight oozes the warm, comfortable side of love.

Three of my favorites didn't make the list: "Moths," "One White Duck," and "Jack-A-Lynn." They have such a deep catalog it's hard to pick just two!

Alas I cannot vote because there is no other. For this reason... ...but I think Inside should definitely have been included in the poll, because I love the beauty, simplicity and optimism of that one as well!... Jeff Exactly, Jeff. Inside has it hands down IMO for the best Tull love song. Three of my favorites didn't make the list: "Moths," "One White Duck," and "Jack-A-Lynn." They have such a deep catalog it's hard to pick just two! 3 of my other favorites too that didn't make the cut. I would ALMOST give the title to "Fire At Midnight" IF it contained the lyrics I thought I heard which turned out to be mistaken. "Frogs and newts slip in the dark" was misheard by my ears for the first several times to be "thoughts of you slip in the dark". I prefer my more romanticized lyrics to Ian's

Look Into The Sun and Reason For Waiting.
Such beautiful songs. And some of the few Tull songs I can play on guitar!

Wondering Aloud & Reason For Waiting ...
Wondering Aloud is probably the best two minute love song ever written. I can smell the toast as the butter runs. Also, a new studio album of new material will be a "Reasong For Waiting."

I agree with your two favorite Tull love songs, by the way, those are my faves as well. Glad to have you with us here! Jeff

I would have voted "Hunting Girl" if it was listed. Now that is a real LOVE song too.
