We're now about 2 months away from the supposed release date, and still no pre-order info on amazon US or UK or info on Jethro Tull's webpage.

This is probably the best year for SW remixes so far with ELP, Tarkus, Larks', and TAAB, compared to 2011 (Caravan, Starless & Bible Black, Discipline, and Aqualung), 2010 (Poseidon and Islands) and 2009 (Crimson King, Lizard, and Red)
Still no info on amazon US yet, but now all the amazon sites are listing this set as 3 discs. So what are the 3 discs? Here's my hope:
CD: 2012 Remix with Bonus Tracks DVD-V: DTS 96/24 and Dullbe 5.1, 2012 Remix, Original 1972 mix, and Bonus Tracks (at PCM 96/24) Blu-Ray: Same content above but DTS-HD MA and LPCM 5.1 surround
Here's how it will probably be laid out: CD1: 2012 Remix CD2: Bonus Tracks DVD-V: DTS 96/24 and Dullbe 5.1, 2012 Remix, Original 1972 mix, and Bonus Tracks (at PCM 96/24)

This new bit of information came from amazon.co.uk, and there's a few problems I have with it.

Is there a Blu-Ray or this all we're getting? #2 (and more importantly), the only bonus material they could give us is a Radio Ad?! JTull completists will be happy to see that it looks like we get the new and original mix on the DVD, but the 5.1's not looking like high-res yet. I just pray if all we're getting is DVD that EMI at least have the courtesy to make the DTS mixes 96/24...

I'm intrigued by this 100 page book if we really are getting one. It'll probably include the original 16page newspaper as well as the March 2012 PROG magazine interview on TAAB. The Aqualung book also included text from the tour programme, yearly chronology, and interviews with the original recording engineer & SW, so it's possible that we could be getting similar material in this package. Maybe a moderator can expand on the packaging contents for this edition.
So it seems like EMI are giving us super deluxe edition packaging without SDE quality audio. Now I can understand if there weren't any bonus tracks available for use, but I still cannot comprehend why EMI insist on giving us Audio DVDs instead of DVD-Audio or Blu-Ray! Now, as SW and others have said before, Blu-Ray is expensive to author, but there is NO good reason why they could not have given us DVD-A/V instead of just DVD-V. C'mon, if SONY can do it, why the hell can't EMI?!?!

Thanks for the official info and high-quality pics Quizz Kid.
Despite the book, this is a disappointing release. My guess is these pinheads at EMI were so worried about giving us great deluxe packaging (and I am actually really excited about the book) that they forgot to give us HIGH-RES DELUXE QUALITY 5.1 AUDIO!!!!
I mean honestly, how much more would it cost to have included Blu-Ray in the package? About $25 is my guess. I understand Blu-Ray is expensive to author and replicate, but yet the labels fail to understand the extra costs associated with DVD-Audio THAT DO NOT EXIST!!!
I will definitely be getting this release cause Brick is my favorite Tull album, and SW can do no wrong with his remixing. However, my excitement level has dropped quite considerably, and I'm very disappointed with EMI. The company that gave us great quality products on Blu-Ray last year have now sunk to a low yet again.
And don't even get me started if the DTS isn't 96/24!

Yes I agree especially in view of the ELP releases which are at a bargain £10. Interestingly the Amazon UK site has the Tull cd box as containing 3 discs, but then frustratingly goes on to describe only 2 (!)
Two discs I think is pretty poor value on the face of it at £28 despite the book which I'll be thrilled to open on Xmas morning but ...but... I'd rather have content. But lets wait and see the quality.
Of course you can't please all the people all of the time, but the lack of the blu-ray is poor especially with the vinyl being unbundled to bring down costs.

Naive question here, which may have already been answered elsewhere on this site (my apologies if this is the case), but will the segmented song sections be released on itunes prior to the November re-issue? That is to ask, what if one is simply interested in mp3 versions of the segmented song sections for download? Is the release of these necessarily tied to the bells & whistles associated the November release? And if so, I wonder why. Thanks in advance for your help.
