Fantastic interview, with good, in-depth answers! Great job guys! I particularly liked David's take on Jeffrey Hammond's bass skills----I've always had an issue with the way Jeffrey (and Ian) have down-played his musicianship, making it sound as if his lack of a typical musical education meant he wasn't up to snuff as a member of Tull.....I've always disagreed with that, and if you consider Ian was self-taught on flute, that didn't stop him from turning it into a new rock solo instrument and the iconic sound of Tull. I also agree with David about TAAB2 not necessarily being a prog rock album.....it's a great rock concept album with some proggish bits, closer in style to a "Tommy" or "Quadrophenia" type album than a "Tales from Topographic Oceans" or "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" (or more pertinently "Thick As A Brick" or "A Passion Play"). I'm looking forward to the live TAAB/TAAB2 concert even more after hearing these guys talk about their experiences recording the new album and learning the old one.

Yes, plaudits for Jeffrey at last. His bass parts are awesome and a killer to learn as they are so unconventional. Skating away is a gem ....and a devil to play !

Superb interviews. When he was listening to TAAB1 I bet Florian would have really liked to have Martin around to ask "How the f*** did you do this right here?"

You know, I just re-read this interview, and I'm still amazed by the insights of IA. We can all take something of a personal nature and relate it to Ian's lyrics. Ian, for all his worldliness, still can see through the eyes of the common man!

In my case, this stanza reminded me that at primary school, in my class was a rather attractive girl (both in looks and personality). She was only at our school for one year, but I remembered her. Years later, she became a reasonably well known actress (here and in the UK), and my fantasy was somehow I'd meet her, and she'd actually remember who I was. I know it will never happen!

What-ifs, Maybes and Might-have-beens indeed! (No, I won't say who it was!) ???

Is this the song where he TALKS rather than sings? I know there are FOUR where he TALKS to us.
