Well, he may have been the only drummer on the stage with them that night but I suspect he wasn't the best drummer in the band that night.... Are you suggesting it was in part "part (of the) drum machine" ? ;D no, just suggetsing that Ian, Martin and the rest of the band could possibly have given him a run for his money. [It is a joke you Genesis fan's out there, I do rate him actually...[well when he was in Genesis anyway]

Hmmm...When I saw Tull in 2007, Ian jokingly mentioned a new Tull album being released in 2012. Perhaps...it was not as jokingly as everyone believed...
Who can tell, who can tell...

How exciting! A 40th anniversary tour of Aqualung. Hmmm.what does that remind me of? Hmmm....oh, yes! Ian's 25th anniversary tour of...(you guessed it.)...Aqualung in 1996.
Wait, wait. There was something else I just remembered....oh yeah...it was 2001 and Tull toured promoting the ....aha! 30th anniversary of Aqualung!
The pathetic thing in all of this is : I'm not even kidding! That's all true

Well that puts things in perspective. LOL Maybe the big 2012 news is a 40th anniversary tour of Living in the Past.

Looks like the official site needs updating. Who would like to ask DC about this in our Q&A thread?

Tull have now been confirmed to play the High Voltage festival in London on the 23rd and 24th July 2011.
"The legendary Jethro Tull – led by charismatic singer and flute player Ian Anderson and guitarist Martin Barre – are set to headline the Prog Stage; this is a UK exclusive, Tull’s only UK show of 2011."
The organisers clearly don't think that Northern Ireland is part of the UK....

Got my tickets for Tull's west of Ireland gig in March. I'm not sure Tull have ever played the west of Ireland? - hope I'm not the only one there!

Well you know I won't hold back TM. I was adamant I would not pay to see Tull again but seeing as they are making the effort to come over to see me in a country that is bankrupt I thought I'd have to make the effort. And anyway, I'm not sure how many more chances I'll have to see the mighty Ian Anderson again. Actually, I'm really looking forward to seeing Martin. I can't believe its been ten years since I saw Tull! I'm not expecting much from Ian's voice so with that in mind I'm going for the music and not the singing. But I'll be sure to give a warts n all review and I won't be holding back if Ian doesn't give value for the €40+ ticket costs!

I will also be looking forward to hearing what you think of it, not having seen them for so long, and being a tough critic. I am glad you are getting the opportunity to see Tull in Ireland again. I hope that they play some of the new material that was featured on the solo tours, and the extended version of Brick that "The Ian Band" played, rather than just a greatest hits tour. I am not crazy about the fact that it's being billed (at least in the U.S.) as the 40th anniversary of Aqualung tour, but that does not necessarily mean there won't be any new material, and hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised with both the song selection and his singing voice. Will Tull tour the US in support of a new disc? And the mouse police never sleeps. Hi, Earl Unfortunately it looks like the answer to your question is no, at least for 2011. The western U.S/Canada tour is being billed by Dave Coursey as the "40th Anniversary of the snotted one." So it's a basically an Aqualung tour, but that does not mean that they won't be playing any new material. It just does not appear that there will be a new album by then, although Ian has said that this year there will be either a new Tull album or a new solo album released at some point....but then again he has been saying that for a number of consecutive years now, so who knows. Their 'next' album? A Halloween (Samhain) album to follow their Christmas one. Beastie, Weathercock, Old Ghosts and Witch's Promise would be ....perfect. Ditto for the Hare Who Lost His Spectacles video. Halloween is big stuff here in the states -more than $7 billion is spent on it annually. Regardless, JT has strongly influenced my artwork. For example, the first image on www.halloweenflight.com was directly influenced by Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow.
