About 3-4 years ago I had been talking with someone at the archive house who was in the process of transferring many of the old Mike Douglas shows from the film reels and digitizing for DVD. I had inquired about the Ian Anderson appearance and was told it did indeed exist on the original film reel and I could pay to have it digitized to DVD. Cost was $300 + $100 for the transfer(would have not been able to share it). At the time I declined, but went back months later to go through with it and just could not find the emails or contact info I had previously found. Something must have been deleted on accident Anyhow, it's out there somewhere. If I recall, this the performance was rehearsed with David Palmer however canned at the last moment and instead they showed a promo clip.

These 2 pictures are from the Benefit album. In Germany they had a gate fold album that also had a poster in. Check out the Boy Scout Manual for the newest additions to the Big Riffs and Mando's sections.

Awesome pics Charlie. I've never seen those before. Very rare pics are like going back in time to find gold.

Awesome pic by Francesco. The image has a very unique style with a cool filter. I need to learn more about photography before my next Tull gig.

That is a fantastic picture! It really captures the spirit of the TAAB concert and shows the enthusiasm of the whole band. I love that.

That is pretty awesome. any clues to how he got the effect would be welcome! Maybe we should ask Francesco to detail his process. I wouldn't want to demean his work by hazarding guesses as to how he came up with this result. He did start off with a very nice sharp hi res photo though thats for sure.

Here #3. The style of these pics reminds me of the days of the early 70's... I'll see if I can get some info on his technique.

Surreal image of John O'Hara. He reminds me of the "Phantom of the Opera" in concert.

Surreal image of John O'Hara. He reminds me of the "Phantom of the Opera" in concert. Gosh Jim, your right!......except that O'hara is a handsome devil and his face isn't disfigured and he's not living in the Paris Opera house and he doesn't have a cape......or a hat.....or a kidnapped woman or a mask and last I heard O Hara hasnt murdered any one. Pretty much just like him. They both play the organ though, but that's pretty much it. You know what? he could also remind us of John Evans! He was a guy who used to also play organ, on stage with Ian Anderson, playing Thick as a Brick even. So it looks like they have quite a bit in common with each other...........

These are some of the nicer Tullish pics I have seen in a while. That is a great ghostly glow type filter. Wonder if it's literoom or photoshop? Thanks for sharing Paul!
