Just a general observation... Ian does not tie his boot strings. I've wondered if it's the stage image or just Ian. He's always had his own style but this seems a little more of a theatrical presentation idea. I would feel reckless and risky if I had not tied mine. Be careful with those boots Ian. Excellent pic by Franceso. Keep 'em coming.

Don't worry Jim, the laces are wrapped around his ankles and tied. Not to mention they actually zip up on the inside. I know my camera would have never shown that fine detail. These are fantastic pictures!

Super nice angle showing the projection system above the stage. I need one like that in the Cave. Hmmmmm....

That last one is probably the coolest of them all great view of the whole scene. I would say this guy was using a tripod, so he mustv'e been sanctioned by the band maybe? He's not using a little point and shoot. and if he's wandering around the venue with a 35 mm on a tripod he had to be. Unless the rules are different here.... Real nice. Thanks for posting these Paul

While I agree with your observations, I get the feeling (from Michele) that he's very young......

I had no idea they were period items!
Some looks a lot like what we wear nowadays, the older ones, except it's usually only seen on females.

I have friend who is not exactly a huge Tull fan but say's he saw them once in 70's and "the flute player was wearing panties". Made me cringe a little.. Here is a 1975 shot of the boots...

Oh yes, there are definitely women's boots that are similar, I have a boot obsession (as you can tell by now) i have leather, imitation leather, knitted, sheepskin, everything...I shop for them a lot and even are waiting for two pair to be delivered. So I view a lot of them online.
Wish I could see that 1975 picture a bit better..

I had some friends, two couples, that had those seats that year. Long around the encore Ian came charging out on to the platform and gave his head a good shake and everyone there were sprayed with sweat. Mary said it was like a dog that just climbed out of a pool. She didnt see it as a souvenir type of thing. Darin E. Cody

Does anyone know the oldest (well youngest) known photo of IA? I know I've seen at least one that was maybe during the late teen years but I searched and can't seem to find it. I know there's another that's a little far away. Is there any even older than that? I was just curious.

I've driven by this so many times over the years, off of the I-15 in the Mojave Desert, I decided today, coming back from a long road trip to Utah, to pull over and snap a quick one. Everybody knows this image right?? Darin

Taking a punt, I believe it is similar to the one on the back cover and the insert to the 'Rocks on the Road' boxset. [Tull CD7]
