So true, that greeting to the Ian band and The Canterbury Gift is very cool.....great work in seeing that through, Pat, and thank you for all your efforts! And, might I add what a superb thread you have put together, what with all the photos and videos, the "real-time coverage," your extensive review and now the concert programme to this extraordinary event.....and I particularly loved the story you told, in installments, relating your adventures in simply getting to the show through all the traffic tie-ups, detours and snow! ;D And, on top of all that....a contest to follow! One of the best and most complete threads we've ever done here for sure....and yet another stunning accomplishment for The Jethro Tull Board, thanks to the Quizz Kid! Jeff

O man, my Stetson is off my head and hovering for a full three seconds before returning fully secured atop my head (a trick I rarely use these days, I'm losing the ability) for that addition to the Canterbury Program! Well done!

Jeff I sincerely hope no one is making light of my contribution to this thread. Since it was here where I announced the brand new "Life Is A Long Dong."

Thanks for the pics Ivy, and welcome to the board. What type of lens/camera were you using?
The cathedral is spectacular and the sound must have been incredible.

Thank you all! Yes I've been pretty glad getting there and traveling by car/ferry turned out to be the best way that weekend. Arriving Friday late without problems and got back pretty well on Sunday only slightly slowed down by heavy snowfall through France, Belgium and the Netherlands... :-) As I haven't been to Canterbury before I was even much more impressed than expected by the sweet town an it's amazing Cathedral!!! And quiet happy that I brought my Camera (Canon EOS 50D with a little bit of photoshop fine tuning of cause ;-)...)... And though I'm pretty sorry for all the people who didn't make it to the concert, in some way all the snow made this weekend even more special and beautiful...

Is there any chance they will repeat this Christmas show at Canterbury Cathedral in 2012? My wife and I are contemplating being in London for Christmas, and would love to see this amazing spectacle. Any rumors? Facts? Speculation? Bald assertions?

Is there any chance they will repeat this Christmas show at Canterbury Cathedral in 2012? My wife and I are contemplating being in London for Christmas, and would love to see this amazing spectacle. Any rumors? Facts? Speculation? Bald assertions? Early word from The Canterbury Gift, who ran the concerts for the Cathedral said it was unlikely. The staff within 'The Gift', I was told, were being 'laid off' with no prospect of work or an Ian gig for Christmas 2012. however, who knows what will be. I did suggest a nice little place that I know in London, but there may be problems with staging a gig there. I'll see what I can find out if there's anything beyond the St Bride's and the St. Nicholas Cathedral Newcastle dates announced
