New thread on published/press reveiws of Tull shows.
This review is from a now defunct UK 'Pop music' magazine called 'DISC' dated 23rd November 1974 and relates to the Warchild gig at London's Rainbow theatre.
It was truly a great gig. The Rainbow was a pretty special venue and I've been lucky enough to have seen all of Tull's gigs there.
On the first night of the Warchild 'gigs' at the Rainbow, myself and thriteen other friends [including girlfriends] went to the gig, a great night, certainly enhanced by Pan's People and the fact that we had all arranged to meet at a pub near London Bridge station before we got the underground over to Finsbury Park. Unbeknown to our girlfriends of the time the male contingent had all agreed [well bet one another], to go in white trenchcoats and flat caps. I can still picture the disgruntled faces of assorted girlfirends as they reluctantly traipsed along with several Tull 'roadie' lookalikes, as well as the look of puzzled commuters on the tube.
One of my mates must have a photograph which I'll try and locate.
The Rainbow, as it was
The Rainbow, as it is now, a church.
