Here is my newest digitally transfred and synced super8 film (silent film kindly donated by Davy Hall.) Originally thought to be from Buffalo, NY however, this is actually from the first night of the Songs from the Wood Tour Pasadena, CA. While trying to sync this film with audio I realized that Ian was singing "Bungle in the Jungle" which was only played once in 77. The first night of the tour. Having a good boot from this show which fit perfectly made it possible for me to present these small film clips with it's actual audio (With the exception of the banter after "new day" where my Pasadena boot cuts out) The actual film itself was in rough shape being around 35yrs old now. Some nice closeups w glasscock etc..Thanks Davy!

Loved every second and snippet of this 8mm masterpiece. Thanks for the visual and audio sync which was done so well. I really like seeing John Evan out in front jamming out. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Just watched it on my iPhone with my ear buds cranked up. Outstanding job as always! Can't wait to see what else Davy has in his archives.

Thanks for posting. Every time I see a Super 8 film of Tull in the 70's it reminds me of the Super 8 my brother shot in at Cobo Hall in Detroit, MI. 1972. No doubt in some landfill now as he was burglarized a few years later and they took his entire music collection. We used to try and sync it up to the TAAB album for fun and for a few minutes at a time it worked well. Not easy work though. Well done!

You know I cringe at the thought of stolen/destroyed films.. That sucks. At least you got to enjoy for a while.

That was such a great refreshing show after TOTRR. It was a fantastic show. Funny. You were working over time to be able to recognize the BITJ, I'd have never fingered that out, I'd never heard that song was ever done on that tour. As always perfect job. There's no school for this "skill". Darin

The Tull fans are very lucky that you guys have "used" your higher degrees to get this stuff out for them. All I can say is great job !!! Adjectives of praise do not do justice in the catalog of material in which you both done magic to. Biggles that is such a bummer that your brother was vandalized and the "Tull" tape went missing. Good memories of the film I hope.

Thanks Tulltapes, beautiful work! I saw a couple of shows in March 1977, the last truly "magical" Tull concerts that I attended. I too thoroughly enjoy seeing John Evans the clown, rocking out to the music during the finale, as he had done for quite a few years. I can't express how much I loved Jethro Tull in those days. Thanks again!

Burned into the hard drive of our memories forevever, you know it.

Thanks Darin. Yeah the silent Bungle had me stumped literally for weeks. I didn't know of any BITJ being played on this tour including the show I saw in Toronto so I wasn't looking for it. But after reading Ian's lips a hundred and fifty times it clicked! Low and behold it was indeed played the first night of the tour and I had the boot! It's like figuring out a complex puzzle sometimes, especially when it's something out of the norm like that. Interesting how Ian ditched it the next night. It didn't sound that bad actually.
