Has anyone heard from John Evan recently? This is a 2007 pic which showed up about a 1200km race from Paris to Brest in France. He looks quite good on that bike.

He looks very fit. Ready for a reunion tour... That would be impressive. Look into the sun and see the things we should've done.

I thought he had some kind of arthritic problem?

I wonder if the lads have convinced him to do a Q&A yet?

I thought he had some kind of arthritic problem? That has been quoted several times in the past and I had the same intiial thought, anyone who has a joint problem in their arms or wrists would have problems on a bike, particularly one with drop [racing] handle bars.

Wow, he is certainly fit to do that sort of thing, and even though he has the sunglasses on, it looks like he's aged extremely well! It is unmistakably him.
John Evan is certainly my favorite keyboardist in the rock genre. He really did make some amazing stuff. The undeniable awesomeness of the 70's era Tull albums certainly owes a lot to him. One of the best stage personas I've ever seen too. That of the drunken crazy ice cream man. Certainly a very humorous, grim, and theatrical character.

Certainly a very humorous, grim, and theatrical character. That is what makes early 70's Tull so great. Jeffrey, Barrie and all the guys were great theatrical characters.

Tull has had some pretty great keyboard players but none ever came close to John. Its frankly immoral to ever perform Brick without him.

I got this pic signed at the '96 convention at Hofstra. John said this was a urinal device which he put his name on. Do you think it was ever used on stage?

I remember reading some Tull concert review on Tullpress.com where the critic said he couldn't wait until the Jethro Tull band (70's lineup) toured without Ian Anderson. Of course, I love Anderson fronting the band, but it would be interesting to see what some of those characters would have done on their own.
That's a great signed picture from John. It must really be something to be remembered from faraway days where you toured the world's rock arenas.

Besides being a terrific keyboard player, John also had that unforgettable stage persona. I remember one of my friends (not really a Tull fan), who began to listen and appreciate Tull, just because of John`s mad stage presence, which he found extremely hillarious and entertaining.

I consider John Evan, Tull's best keyboard player ever. He always added spice to Tull's line up. I came down from the skies to Cry you a Song.

Yeah, John Evan had that great crazed look in his eyes. He's up there with Manzarek.

By Kind Permission Of is one of my favorite Tull songs ever!! Moreso a John Evans song. I wonder what John does now. He lives in Australia, but I don't know where either. Any clues??? Wow, had no idea he lives in australia. I think the only thing I've ever heard was on the 25th anniversary video where I think he said he was something along the lines of a construction lawyer? I don't know.
