In the hope of eventually finding some Heresy videos, I am setting up this thread with some photos, and a link to their website, which I was surprised to find even existed. I thought they were no longer around, and that probably is true, because the Heresy website is actually part of their lead singer/flutist Tony Garone's larger webpage, which also covers the other bands he has been in, as well as a lot of biographical information about him personally.
Let me tell you, this Garone guy is one interesting character -- perhaps eccentric is the better word -- and his website has got a lot of surprising information, which I did not know before.
Many will remember Heresy as one of the earliest Tull tribute bands -- along with Ray and Erin's Living in the Past, they were one of the grandfathers of Tull trib bands. Heresy goes back to the early eighties, when they were playing the Long Island club circuit as a strictly Tull tribute act on some nights, but I think they also played their own original music on other nights. I saw them with Mike Grin at a club in Huntington Long Island (Hammerheads, I think) way back in 1982 or maybe 1983 and I remember they were great.
In the nineties, they burned the house down at Jerry Adessa's "Little Milton's Birthday Bash" in the East Village, and they tore up several Tull conventions, including one in Melville, New York in 1994 (I think) and a later one in 1999 when the played the entire Passion Play note for note.
Here are their links, and some photos from Garone's website.

I was surprised to see on Garone's website that Marcie Schreier of Single Footsteps/Sossity -- who we had the pleasure of meeting very recently in NYC with her ex-Dayglo Pirate husband Paul Forrest, and seeing them perform two gigs, one of them just Footsteps alone, and the other opening for trib band War Child -- worked with Tony nine or ten years ago on a project of his callled Gilgamesh, about the ancient Sumerian king. (She did some of the vocals for the album). Here, Marcie discusses her colloboration with Tony:

The best part of this whole story is that Tony was invited to be the guest at Ian's Rubbing Elbows show in Phoenix back in 2003, where he performed excerpts of his Gilgamesh concept album. Here is Tony performing with Ian:
The fascinating story of Tony's guest appearance at Ian's Rubbing Elbows show appears on a separate page of Tony's site, entitled "Ian, Tony and Gilgamesh" (!) and there are a lot of great photos of the rehearsal, the performance itself and Tony with members of Ian's Rubbing Elbows band, including Ian himself, James Duncan, Kit Morgan, David Goodier and John O'Hara. Here is a photo from the page, and the link to the story with all the other photographs, which I highly recommend for perusal.
