These are my music machines. A busted acoustic guitar (yamaha) with a missing pickgaurd and numerous cracks and dents (still sounds really good). Youncant really see them, but on the side there is a pink Floyd Ummagumma sticker, and a Psychedelic Greatful dead sticker. My latest sticker is still in the mail, and it is none other than Jethro Tull! There is a standard epiphone les Paul, which sounds great plugged into that 10 watt Marshall amp. There is a Johnson a style mandolin which is a bit rough and rigid, but it does the trick. Made a lot of money on the dc metro with that (and my girlfriend). And of course my flute. I have a better one made of silver that my uncle "loaned" to me when he moved to California. I give him frequent calls to encourage him to stay out there. Kidding. Let's see yours!!!

This is not where this all goes but for purposes of this shot. There's a 8 space rack full of outboard gear under the table behind the congas, but I haven't used them for quite a while with all the digital plug-ins for software. Piano is upstairs and PA rig is in storage. I do not own an electric guitar at the moment or an amp.....but thats about to change. Darin Cody

Damn, Darin, you have some hardcovers gear. What a great setup you have there. Do you do any podcasts or online radio shows with those microphones? Derek, you may only have the kazoo, but that's a hell of a kazoo to show off

Damn, Darin, Do you do any podcasts or online radio shows with those microphones? Thanks Kai. Podcasts? hahaha.....as a matter of fact here are three installments. I call my "podcasts" "Shameless Self Promotion" Many more on this site. Residual Blue. No flute but Yamaha Wind Synth starts at around 0:53. I added some fun at the end. This one has a bit (way too much) flute: And here are some ways to waste recording time dollars. Darin Cody

Awesome music, Darin--full force! Had no idea you were such a great musician. The flute playing on whimper is insane! I can only erk out two, maybe three songs on the flute.

Thanks TM, Kai and Preston (yes, I'd be honored). I've posted some of this before in the "Do you play?" thread. It's old stuff now. It's in my "What if's, Maybe's and Might've Beens" file. ( along with the picture of "Hermoine"!) She is in front of me each day. It was great putting all that stuff (the instruments) out at once, I have it stored and stuffed into various parts of my office, out of sight. I work here and non-paying, time sucking, musical endeavors becomes a bit of a distraction. It's been a great new inspiration to have it all out though. I played guitar last night til 2am. Thanks for the suggestion Kai.
Jim: nice spot! Yes it' a crystal flute, pretty shrill but cute, and mostly useless, given to me by a friend in the eighties. Same with the bamboo flute but it works well, got it in the mid eighties and in response to Ian's comment from the stage in 95, I have made money with it! Darin Cody
As it slips to the far and wide of me........

Darin Cody As it slips to the far and wide of me........ Yeah, I find I am most inspired to play guitar during late night hours. I recently picked up the slide again for the first time in 4 years, after having failed miserably the first time. This second try seems to have been a success, I don't sound horrible!
