Just a thought. Been thinkin bout what a GREAT keyboardist he was: piano/organ/synths/accordion, etc. How could he have given it all up?! at age 32? to be a businessman? What a waste. I feel he might have been the best overall musician in Tull (besides IA) ...even more than MB. He coulda hooked uo with any number of bands after Ian fired hus ass? maybe The same ges for Barrie too. Would've luved for this GREAT drummer to have continued w/ another big-time rock band. Oh well

Well apparently he now lives in Australia. Would love to bump into him at my local 7-11 or Milk Bar but Oz is a pretty big country so no luck as yet.

I believe he was in the Melbourne area, so maybe you'll walk by a cocktail bar and hear some refrains of the intro to Locomotive Breath, then you've found him! If only... Geoff

I believe he's a very successful contractor - and no longer plays due to arthritis I think its the 20th anniversary DVD that John talks about his refurb business and was very careful about not advertising that he was an ex- Tullie, people thinking he was a pop star playing at business. He was concerned about not being taken seriously. I think I've heard since that he may even have retired from that business. Either way I don't think he wants to be "tracked down" and yes I heard about arthritis also, and also not having touched a piano in ages. I think that last bit was from Ian in one of the AND interviews and the questions about maybe having some of the ex-members coming oout and playing on the 40th TAAB anniversary tour. It may have been around the time of Catfish in 90/91, Ian asked John to come do some recording and John said no. Sad as it seems, John is done playing. I was imagining what an absolute hit of a show that could've been with the original band, Jeffrey, Barrie, John and Martin, playing TAAB...... The Ian Band could've been the support band doing TAAB2 and then ..........enter TULL! Just dreaming a bit. Darin

Darin From the looks of the blast he was having on your video, maybe he would've been more excited to come back for APP. ;D Looked to be having a lot of fun and I could only see the back of him.

I recently purchased an Eko Ranger 12 string from 1967. There's an autograph on the back and when I saw that Jethro Tull used this guitar occasionally, I compared some of there signatures. I think it looks a lot like John Evans autograph but I don't know for sure. What do you guys think? Anyone know how I can find out for sure? It would be the best if I could ask John Evans himself since there are some distinguishable markings on the guitar that he might remember if it was actually his. Anyway, check out the link below for pictures. photos.app.goo.gl/BkfMaqDWya1kUFXY9I'm not sure what I'll do with it if it is actually his. Thanks for any help some might be able to supply me with.

I know it’s not really about the band itself but I was lucky enough to be at Uni with John E in London. Great guy, so interesting to talk to, bit different from the average student. He once got a few of us tickets for a gig in the Royal Albert Hall, I think in 1969, maybe 1968. He was easily the brightest among us all and left prematurely in 1970 to re-join the band as we know. Just thought I’d share that ….
