Do you guys think there could be any erotic connotation to a new IA logo on this album, or is it just naughty me? hehehe

After all Ian only has his initials, how would you arrange them? Darin Cody

But for now, it's just "...fuzzy fudge words. So freeze those goalposts, don't take the Admiral on board. This Hardy's not for kissing..."

It seems that the first review copies have been sent out Here is part of a discussion at prog ears by Canterbury specialist Calyx who has apparently received a review copy www.progressiveears.org/forum/showthread.php/6704-New-Ian-Anderson-Album-and-Tour/page2Quote ' I've heard the new album [advance review copy], and I would say Ian is in better voice than he's been in a while, and musically this is as strong, and possibly better (as it isn't dragged by being the sequel to an older album) than "TAAB2". This shouldn't disappoint JT fans. ' This sounds interesting ..personally though I would like Homo to be a lot stronger musically than TAAB 2. I tend to agree with others that the whole thing was a bit sterile in its approach. The spoken words were for me an unwelcome distraction. I also found the clean production of Steve Wilson not what I really wanted ..(although in prog circles he can apparently do no wrong). I am probably wrongly hoping for lots of energetic flute , fewer vocals and an immense amount of distorted and dirty guitar. Certainly the timings of the tunes would suggest that I am going to be disappointed. Nevertheless given the relentless press and discussion board interest in the Martin Barre / Jethro Tull debate ..I would not be at all surprised if Florian Opahle is give some degree of artistic licence in order to prove the doubters wrong .

I really expect to hear more aggressive flute playing and fast going music in this one. Let's see.

Overheard on another board from one with an advance copy:
"Excellent new album. Very dark. 15 tracks, no clunkers" Appearantly there are several advance copies out there but no one is saying much.
Also, I notice the American tour seems to be selling much faster than the Brick tour
Also, anyone besides me notice the difference in the timings between cd and dvd versions? Most are only a second or 2 but some are several seconds. Any thoughts on this?
Yer pal, Bassackwards
P.S. I can't wait 37 more days! I want my Homo now! (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Hi , I have been following this thread about Homo on the Prog Ears site with interest as well
Hopefully more details will begin to emerge soon. It seems that A NEW DAY 111 is soon to be published which contains an interview with Ian relating to Homo.
I have high hopes for this , but am also concerned that it might contain more spoken word parts Best Preston

Sounds interesting. Wish we had a full on pre-release review of this like they do with movies. Send out advanced copies and let the children of the scorn have at it. Or sneak previews on the official site.

Brian Rabey got one of those copies to review. He might be able to provide us with more details...

I have recently had a internet discussion with someone who has a review copy of Homo. Apparently ..first impressions Homo is a fine album which is steeped in vintage Tull stylings.

I saw Lukas Was' comments about Doggerland. Not sure how he's heard it, but I was happy to hear his comments.

Do you think the shortest track 'In For A Pound' might be a spoken word track ?

Would be great if a 30 second full on loud, heavy, twirly whirly, psychedelic moment.

My (hopefully) only little moan about this album, pre-released, is the length - only 51.5 mins. I know it's longer that TAAB and APP, but was kind of expecting a 75min epic. I suppose it's quality that counts though. I'm just a greedy bugger

Do you think the shortest track 'In For A Pound' might be a spoken word track ? It sure sounded that way from the sample clip that was posted.

I'd be happy with a new album of 35 mins. New material which from the 3 teasers sound spot on. It's going to be a long 30 days.

It did ....and given the running time I doubt if it could be anything else. 'Might Have Beens 'from TAAB 2 was 50 seconds so this sort of ties in. The shortest musical track I believe is Slipstream take 2 at 55secs from the Aqualung remastered bonus disc. I hope that this spoken word works better than TAAB 2.

Would be great if a 30 second full on loud, heavy, twirly whirly, psychedelic moment. That would be great , but I do not think that there are going to be many psychedelic moments. Given the historical concept of human exploration and expansion / over population of Homo Erraticus seen through the ages I would not be surprised if some of the music is going to be very English sounding, like perhaps the church parts of My God or hopefully Velvet Green...although Ian has said it is going to be folk metal whatever that means
