I guess that "over 30" mistakenly became "over 40" !

Well there's "Live at the Hammersmith", 2005's "Live Aqualung" 2003's "Classic Masters" Then there were various smaller releases around 92 or so like "Rocks On The Road" That had mostly live tracks Then they maybe counting Walk into Light, Divinities, Secret Language Of Birds, Rupi's Dance and TAAB 2. Thats 8 or 9. (Sounds like a Q for Derek Pith.) Darin

Not that it matters, but it does seem a bit misleading. I've always considered studio albums to be the "measuring stick" so given that there are about 22 albums (including the Christmas album) I was quite surprised to see them touting 40 plus.
Perhaps they are counting re-releases like TAAB as three since there was in fact the original, the 25th anniv, and now the 40th anniversary?

I have thought of that already, couldn't list the 40 as well. It is weird but they must have included all live albuns and compilations.

Just as being 40 is the new 30, instead, Ian should've called "TAAB 2", JETHRO TULL/ THIS WASN'T. Speaking of "WASN'T", wasn't there an Orchestral Tull Lp at some point? ; )

The orchestral 'disaster' was pure Ian Anderson which vaulted him into the lower echelon of the muzak charts. May that rest in peace.

You didn't include Nothing Is Easy: Live at the Isle of Wight 1970, which I consider one of the most important Tull releases of the last 20 or 30 years.

Okay, I've got it. I'm thinking of David Palmer's "A Classic Case".

I suppose it comes down to the definition of 'album'?

Okay, I've got it. I'm thinking of David Palmer's "A Classic Case". Ah yes, and that one featured Ian on a few songs and includes Martin's greatest Aqualung solo ever.

Right you are, and also best bass line from Peggy, and, with all due respect to Clive, perhaps the best drumming on the song, from part time Euro leg drummer Paul whats his face.

Now I'll have to go back and listen to DP. What did you think of Dave Pegg's work on 'A'? He had quite a different sound on that album I think. And we need to get to an avatar. Don't mind me as I create one for you real quick, as you can always change it.....

Don't mind me as I create one for you real quick, as you can always change it..... CC wasn't a bad album in retrospect. Yeah, I loved Dave's playing on A. He was using a fretless bass on that one, getting all those sliding funky sounds, like on 4WD. That was a popular sound then, with Jaco Pastorius popularizing that technique with Weather Report, Joni Mitchell and others. That was also the album that featured fusion players Eddie Jobson ( UK ) and Mark Craney ( Jean Luc Ponty ) which probably also inspired Pegg's sound, that and the fact that it wasn't to be a Tull album at the time of recording, so he was free to expiriment a bit. I read where Craney put Pegg right up there with the best he had played with. I like all his work, especially on Bouree from A Little Light Music. LOL, yeah that avatar is fine. I rather liked the alien but at least now I'm not "Default." I also looked like Sparky's twin. If Mothy approves I'm cool with it. haha!

haha, I was just going to ask, where the heck did that avatar come from? This is an expression of my inner self, which TM acutely discerned. What do you think? Honestly.
