Fuck me. Something amazing seems to be going on. Ian Anderson's sudden return to creativity with TAAB2 and the next one Homo Erraticus. These are complex works that demand far more from the listener. There's quality in this work, substance and longevity.
Is it a coincidence that Sting, who like Anderson hasn't been that creative (last album of new material was ten years ago) bursts back into action with an amazing new work. A musical no less! Check it out:
Are the old school re-inventing themselves? Is there a conscious effort to come up with something that takes craft? That connects with an audience sick of cheap throw-away plastic dribble? Whatever it is, I'm liking it. Keep it up boys!

Spot on Mix
Longevity borne out of many things, like learning your craft the hard way and not being crafted by the likes of Cowell for short term gain, quality musicianship, resurgence in popularity of old school rock through mags like Classic Rock and Prog and in no small way by the likes of fans like us keeping a flame burning through the doldrum years.
