Seems like Ian is calling his band Jethro Tull again. porijazz.fi/en/Or is it just the organizers of Pori Jazz?

Most likely the organizers. They will play in Langesund, Norway 12th of July 2017 under the name Ian Anderson. linkAn interesting playlist anyway. They will perform a greatest hits kind of concert featuring the most beloved Jehtro Tull songs such as “Benefit”, “Aqualung” and “Thick As A Brick”. Benefit - A brand new song on the play list... Most likely a left over from the album. I hope it will show up on the forthcoming Benefit - elevated edition. Or more likely, the organizers...

Yes, he is calling it Jethro Tull again. According to Ian, Jethro Tull is not a band, it is a body of work, like Beethoven, and therefore since he wrote most of it, he can call it Jethro Tull. This seems to go against his pledge never to call a band that does not include Martin Barre by the name 'Jethro Tull.'
He probably figures that the Jethro Tull moniker is much more effective in selling tickets than 'Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson'. Hence we had Jethro Tull the Rock Opera the past few years, and now the inevitable return to simply 'Jethro Tull.'

David Rees speaks about that subject as well as Ian's voice and the "dismissal" of Martin in his latest issue of A New Day. According to Dave, many Tull fans are still upset and continue to voice their displeasure on social media over it. Having taken a break from the social media side of Jethro Tull; I'm surprised to hear that is still going on.

I couldn't resist running parts of that link in Google translate (since I don't speak Finnish, even though we are neighbours), and it was quite interesting: Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson is still a hard-working composer and will perform over a hundred gigs annually. For a long time, the band has long been Anderson and guitarist Martin Barre. In addition, the band includes Jethro Tull Veterinarian, drummer Doane Perry, keyboardist and guitarist John O'Hara, and bassist David Goodier.
Now, I very much doubt that this will be the actual line-up - and I am even less sure that Doane really is a veterinarian (probably an error by Google translate)!

Jethro Tull Veterinarian, drummer Doane Perry LOL That is a google-error. Should be veteran. The other info on the page is otherwise wrong.
