I really love "Burn the wagon and chain the mule, the past is all denied" from A Time from Everything, one of my favorite Tull songs, one which says so much in so few words. That line is like a desperate plea to slow down the inexorable march of time, a forlorn, regretful wish to turn back the clock so he could live his life over again, and do it differently. Jeff

Favorite Tull line and good philosophy ; "Too much hurry ; ruins a body" from Fire At Midnight. Live versions seem to say "Too much worry".. and that sounds even better. I'm a firm believer that stress ages a body quickly and don't sweat the little things. Favorite Ian Solo line : "Too proud for anger, too late for hate: resigned in dignity" from Secret Language-Sanctuary. Something I'm not ready to accept yet, but maybe someday. Dan

Man--with Jethro Tull there are probably too many to count. I can think of many, but unfortunately at the moment my mind is drawing blanks when it is trying to find my very favorite.
One line I was admiring just the other day, was from the epic "My God"
"The bloody church of England in chains of history Requests your earthly presence at the vicarage for tea"
The following instrumentation is to die for.
Funny that England would knight Ian nowadays with a whole catalogue of criticism of the English (and most) governments.
