Let's not forget Ian's good side either. It's only fair. The fact is that he gives a lot of money to charities, does benefit concerts for various causes, etc., and although I've personally witnessed several instances of him being a complete jerk to fans (and read about many other such instances), he was very nice to me three out of the four times that I have met or spoken to him for any length of time.
The point is he is human. He's got flaws like all of us. I don't think he himself would like it if everyone idolized or worshipped him as something other than a flawed human being. And there's no reason why discussion of his personality and actions towards fans and band members may not be discussed in a free and open forum. Everyone is entitled to express his or her opinion about him, and should never be shouted down or insulted for doing so.

Well spoken. I used to work in radio and booking acts for some local clubs, so I had the opportunity to meet several big (and some obscure) names in music. They are just people.
They have good days and bad days and are subject to joy as well as annoyance. They aren't Christ-like.
Ian Anderson, in particular, has given up a lot of himself to bring us decades of enjoyment. I can deal with him being the occasional not-so-nice-or-accomodating person.
