i904.photobucket.com/albums/ac246/tullite/20100322221234.jpg saori joe played for around 1 hour and were well worthy of being the support act for the Tull shows she has a fine voice and the acoustics complimented every song having said that, the bass of David goodlier was a bit heavy at times but her keyboard playing and enthusiastic vocals were worth getting a seat early. Tull came on at 8.30 pm with dunringhill ,water carrier, after which Ian described the water carriers of many beaches as picking up empty bottles after you go home and filling them for the next day with polluted well water giving all that buy them the runs the next day inc himself !!. then it was onto liefs a long song , eurology, nothing is easy,a new day,and this is were i personally think it started going down hill big style with sftw Ian could just not pull this one off it was disastrous i felt embarrassed for him !! then tea with a princess was OK instrumental, fat man, bouree, and a change of horses was really good but i thought it sounded a bit like the intro to gallows tree from simple minds ( anyone agree ? ) next was bug martins instrumental piece which as usual was played brilliantly by martin and Duane's drumming solo in the middle was classic brilliance, Budapest, and as usual the last two were aqualung and loco and the balloons are back !! the show was good but i cant say excellent main low points being the songs Ian can no longer carry off ( are they scared to tell him or wont he listen ? ) i am not making excuses for him but he did sound rough even when just talking normally, he even cocked the set list up by playing sftw to early which confused the rest of the band !! saying afterwords it was because he wasn't wearing his glasses and making a joke of it !! that wasn't like Ian cus hes usually so professional. David goodiers six string bass took over IE to loud and vibey on a lot of the songs ( just my personal opinion ) doane played brilliantly and no perspex screen in front of his drums !! john o hara had a good night to, overall they played tight and energetically . and lets face it the main 3 men are not youngsters anymore and always try to give there best on stage night after night tour after tour , how do they do it ? vitamins ? Viagra ? who knows but long may it carry on because i will be there till the final balloon drops .

Great, great pictures Jim, thanks for posting them. I especially love the ones with Martin on flute, and Doane on drums. Show sounds like a mixed bag...it's a shame because the 40th anniversary tour showed that they could still kick ass, it's just that Ian doesn't really want to anymore. Also, it is my feeling that there are loads of songs that Ian could sing better than the ones he usually chooses. It's too bad that there is such a limited rotation of songs that are included in concerts, compared to the huge catalogue. I don't buy any mechandise anymore either, except for when there is a new program, like the 2008 program with the calendar inside. That was a very good one. Jeff

nice photos love the one of Preston Platform ..brings back memories.
I have just listened to an audio of this show. Its available at rapid share .Talk Tull hav got links .I feel quite confused about this show. Live I felt something in this performance was lacking but as a audio show its not that bad, in fact there are lots of subtle changes to arrangements that I just did not notice on the night.
So maybe it was just my perception on the night
