Oh my, that was brutal. Interesting when he writes...."but he is still an incredibly animated character who, intentionally or not, makes me laugh uncontrollably throughout". It's not like you are attending a comedy show and expecting to laugh throughout.
Also that part about Martin was sad.........

Thanks for posting that review, Jim. Not very flattering, but I hated the writer most for saying that Martin is "terrible." Martin, terrible? Jeff

the reviewer should be sacked ! obviously not a tull fan hes made it sound worse than it actually was. the bar was open and people were taking drinks back to there seats and it actually got quite rowdy towards the end of the show , personally me and my other half enjoyed most of it . but you cant please all people all the time .

The fact that peeps keep going to the bar & leaving their seats during a relatively short show (plus the waiting on beer lines, converating, etc), shows that the concert cant be that good, eh? And peeps being rowdy= typical Tull "bar crowd" lol

Martin is great. My question is how does Martin play an entire performance of the Tull oeuvre with ONE electric guitar. The only time he uses a second guitar is when Song For Jeffrey is in the setlist. The result of playing the one guitar is a generic sound throughout the entire set. The notes are different (obviously) but the overall sound gets a bit boring. I think it gets down to being cheap (and unfortunately lazy). Not wanting to schlep around X amount of guitars in order to get a more authentic sound for a song.
