If you know the difference some re-released things are actually worth re-buying. (I think some of us deserve an upgrade price though) Stuff like the Passion Play gold original master recording for example. I have never heard acoustic guitars sound so good! The quality of the sound to me is very important and if they can make the original sound alot better with new technology and original tapes I am ready and waiting. Anything mixed by Steven Wilson is like gold and nobody should be be complaining about a SW 5.1 mixed Tull release. This is going to sound incredible!! and the bonus stuff will be worth ther price alone. Many best of's and remastered cd's are BS but this one is the real deal! Amen almost! I'm in for the surround sound (quad or 5.1). The blu-ray is for me. I'm not interested in the vinyl at this point. There's always hope for an improvement in the remix & original mix. Fingers crossed. The one I worship, speaking of that gold APP, much praise here. The sound! the sound! that defines Jethro Tull is found here. Wonderful, wonderful. I'm deliberately communicating in an unfocused or imprecise way. - only me This is why I rock with Tull. If you can't understand it at first, it will make perfect sense later. Too many albums are written making it easy for you to sing along. I can take these lyrics and imagine a different world. "My mind is aglow with whirling transient nodes of thought. Careening through a cosmic vapor of invention". Hedley Lamarr / Harvey Korman 1974

Lloyd Bridges had one of those which inspired Ian to use it for the album. "Sea Hunt" was an old t.v. show with lots of underwater sounds and action. I never tried it but it looked like fun. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Also, I was pulled over years ago when an officer noticed my "Aqualung" license plate: see Tull Plates. He thought this was a reference to a smoking device (bong) or water pipe. I just can't risk using it on my vehicle anymore.

Now I'm goimng to be a bit greedy, what must lurk inside the TaaB vault? Yes! Greed be! I know Chateau was different, but there must be outtakes from TaaB, I always suspected LALS and some from the EP was part of the TaaB concept, TaaB being a very long song and all that. Personally i'm in for the big one with primary interest in 27. Lick Your Fingers Clean (New Mix) 28. Just Trying To Be (New Mix) 29. My God (Early Version) 30. Wond'ring Aloud (13th December 1970) 31. Wind-Up (Early Version - New Mix) 32. Slipstream (Take 2) 33. Up The 'Pool (Early Version) 34. Wond'ring Aloud, Again (Full Morgan Version) 35. Life Is A Long Song (New Mix) 36. Up The 'Pool (New Mix) the costly bit is going to be the hardware upgrade!, upgrade, hepgrave!

Now I'm goimng to be a bit greedy, what must lurk inside the TaaB vault? LOL. That sounds great, although I thought there were some new songs as opposed to new mixes of previously released songs. Well whatever, I'm looking forward to it.

Its seems like a great package but like TM I am a little disappointed that there are no new tunes in the unreleased section. I would ahve like HHEG or TWTD to have been included. Maybe these were the unreleased songs which Ian struck from the project

Maybe these were the unreleased songs which Ian struck from the project Preston, I have to agree, but it at least we have another package that is deserving of the legacy of Tull and the significance of Aqualung as a landmark album and Tull as a band of importance. I'm grateful that it seems that EMI are finally starting to realise that at long last. Maybe HHG/HHEG and TWTD will appear on the expected massive TaaB remaster along with the full length pro-shot film of the full TaaB gig......

Ok, so I'm really glad to see that the "Life is a Long Song" EP is included in this collection and that two of the tracks were mixed in 5.1 Is "Wond'ring Aloud, Again" an extended version of "Wond'ring Again" (from Living in the Past)? And is "Wind-Up - Early Version" the Quad mix recording, or is that a different recording altogether?

Mr Anderson thinks we are stupid. Reissue the same thing 35 times and the foolish punters will keep buying it. Jethro Tull's output is starting to remind one of "Sir Harry Lauder's Final Farewell Performance." I agree with you on this. I foolishly bought the 40th anniversary edition of Stand Up, and then I realized that everything on there had already been previously released on the 20th Anniversary box set (the BBC recordings) and the remastered Stand Up that was released several years earlier. So I got a booklet now and the little pop-out guys, which I already had anyway from the Mobile Fidelity version. Big deal. Jeff
