T. As A B. from Montreal Loco Breath and Aqualung are on Youtube there also but I just can't watch them for the 200th time. "The cattle quietly grazing ...."line is spoken ala "Wounded, Old and Treacherous" @ about 9:04. As much as he struggles vocally with this diificult passage, it's great to hear the entire Poet and Painter segment again, and I think the spoken 'cattle quietly grazing' stanza works nicely. Loved hearing a different live Brick....finally after so many years. Jeff

Thanks for the links tt. And yes, it appears Ian finalized the deal with EMI for the Fuel releases. The deal was to also include a new album as well so let's hope that might ring true.

That really is a good setlist. Bouree, A-lung and LocoBreath will always be there, and I never really get tired of Budapest, although I know others do. But aside from those four, everything else is really pretty fresh, and a 15 minute Brick which includes The Poet and The Painter is by itself worth the price of admission. Let's hope that remains intact for the duration of the tour. Jeff

Interesting set list. Looking forward to the new songs and Wond'ring Again. However, I'm a bit concerned about Ian's vocals with Bungle and TAAB. While I love Poet and The Painter, Ian sure has a tough time singing it. Last time I heard it was up in Burlington, VT in 1997 and he had trouble with it then as well. Hopefully we'll catch him on one of those special nights.

My Long Island Tull brother Barry, who I will be hitching a ride with tomorrow to Morristown, posted this on youtube, from last night's show in Peekskill:
An inspired choice by Ian! Quite cool. Thanks, Barry!

My Long Island Tull brother Barry, who I will be hitching a ride with tomorrow to Morristown, posted this from last night's show in Peekskill: Quite cool. Thanks, Barry! Jeff Absolutely love it! The humor , playfulness and element of surprise, is just something that has seemed to be missing from the last few Tull Shows , just cranking out the hits so to speak, and the I.A. Solo Tours appears to rejuvenate his creativeness . Whatever the reason, playing with different musicians or making a more concerted effort because it is 'his' name up on the venue billboard , the unlocking of dusty old gems and glimpses of 'songs to come', make this a 'must see'. I regret missing them when they were a mere stones throw away. I have to disagree with Mr. Anderson when he says he can't get away with this music with a ''Tull"' audience because who does he think attends the Solo Tours? That's exactly what the Tull fans want! I loved hearing Ian doing Jeffrey's Hare! Dan

I just returned from the Morristown NJ show, a very fun night in which I got to hang out with Paul and his friend Dennis, Barry and Big Dave, my friend Rob (making an unplanned and last minute appearance), Ken Green and others. A thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying concert, with a great song selection and fresh new arrangements. Ian's voice was good enough in the first set, outstanding in the second. For Bouree and Change of Horses (which was beautifully played and sung), Ian had a special guest, female violinist Marissa McCarter, who I believe has performed with Ian previously. This was different from the Peekskill show, which did not include a guest violinist. Happily, John O'Hara did not play nearly as much accordian as he did in the last solo tour; at no time was I annoyed by it being overused last night. Bungle in the Jungle was dropped from the set list, replaced by In the Grip of Stronger Stuff. The new song, Adrift and Dumbfounded, was stunning, a great song that would be equally approrpriate as a Tull song; it is about a parent-child relationship involving a teenage daughter who has gone astray. There is a second new song, indeed, an instrumental, which is as of now unnamed; Ian jokingly referred to it as "that fucking tune." It was fine, but in several places sounded very reminiscent of past Tull songs, maybe a bit too reminiscent. After the show we asked Dave Goodier about a song we thought we saw in a setlist the other night, by the name of "It'll Get you to Next Week." David explained there is no such song, and that whoever entered that on the setlist website probably got that from Ian joking that the song "may get one (i.e., a name) next week." Standouts that brought down the house were The Hare Who Lost his Spectacles (the other Hare song sounded much better than it did the last time around too) and the full Bursting Out version of Brick, standing ovation for that one of course, and the Budapest that was played last night was maybe best-ever. Aqualung was the same re-worked version from the Divinities era, but the Locomotive Breath was an entirely new arrangement. My favorite of the night: the incomparably beautiful Wond'ring Again. I give this show an A- based on a fresh setlist, great performances -- Florian was superb -- terrific jokes and banter, receptive audience, a good two hour, nineteen song set, and a fun atmosphere with Ian clearly enjoying himself. Here's the setlist: Acoustic 1.Life's a Long Song 2.Up To Me 3.Nursie 4.Set Aside 5.The Hare In The Winecup (New Song) 6. In the Grip of Stronger Stuff 7.Wond'ring Again/Wond'ring Around 8.Andante [Florian Guitar Solo] 9.Adrift & Dumbfounded 10.The Story of the Hare Who Lost His Spectacles 11.Prelude in C Major 12.Bouree Electric 13.Thick As a Brick 14.Bach's Toccata in Fugue 15.A Change Of Horses 16. Unnamed new song (instrumental) 17.Budapest 18.Aqualung Encore: 19.Locomotive Breath

I almost forgot to mention, we have a great surprise for our members, which you will be able to view here very soon, hopefully by tomorrow, if all goes well. Trust me, you're going to love this!
This fantastic, hilarious surprise will kick off an exciting new fall season on The Jethro Tull Board, with still more Q&As in the pipeline, a contest or two with prizes, and more of the cutting edge stuff that we like to do here!
So stay tuned and watch the board during the next 24 hours....you will not be disappointed!
