My 6 year old son loved Iron Maiden in 1985. When Iron Maiden was in town, we had to go. The Light Technician allowed Jason to watch from the Control Platform during the show. This was a show to remember with all the special effects you could imagine. Jason knew every song by heart and loved it. The Powerslave Tour was unbelievable. The giant Mummy appeared at the end. Jason ran the light controls during the encore. Dave Lights (Light Technician) gave us all backstage passes. Jason met the whole band and got autographs. Dave Murray - Guitarist After meeting Nicko McBrain, Jason got some drum sticks. Jason eventually learned guitar and plays very well. Thank you very much Iron Maiden! Jason saw Tull 4 times after he got a little older. It all makes sense now.

Since Bruce Dickinson will be at Canterbury next month, how about a "Cross-Eyed Mary" duet? I always thought it could be a Christmas Song too.

Lest we forget What they stood for What they gave their lives for What they returned to And what we have done to it. Make what you do worthy of the sacrifices they made, otherwise their lives were given in vain.

This is my dad's older brother, Jack, standing with the knit cap on and the Thompson. 82nd Airborne in Italy 1944. He was killed on the last day of the Battle of the Bulge Jan 28 1945 2 mos shy of his 20th birthday, 4 mos shy of the end of the war in Europe. I've visited his gravesite in Belgium. Who knows what he might've become, how he would've changed our family, as good as it's been. But nothing would've kept him from being there. In 2000 I set out to find out how and where he died, all of this went unknown for years. I found guys he served with found a book about his unit with pages dedicated to him. I eventually joined his units association and went to they're final 3 reunions. A nicer bunch of people I've never met, fine gentlemen.

In honor of National Metal Day: Metallica would like to say thank you for their Grammy Award. Thanks to Jethro Tull for not putting out a new album. Special thanks to Paul for his photographic skills.

Thanks the 'lest we forget' is a quote from our remembrance Memorials, the rest is mine. My Dad was amongst the last of the BEF to evacuate Dunkirk, it humbles me to think what he went through, it amazes me he survived when so many died, and it dismays me that many veterans are forgotten in a world so obsessed by celebrity and selfishness. Well done for honouring their memories.

We all must remember the creator of this symbol. In his days with Black Sabbath he was a Metal God. It was Dio that made it a symbol for Heavy Metal. We miss you Ruler of Heaven and Hell. "It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell"

I was raised on Tull from birth thanks to my dad. But going to high school in the late 80's/early 90's, I discovered metal and became a huge Metallica fan, still am to this day. Am I still allowed to post here? Great Maiden pics - love those guys too.

"Enter Sandman" is always a favorite of mine. God Bless Metallica! My son taught me all about them. Heavy Metal owes them alot. The Black Album is Classic. At some point MTV decided not to play Tull after the Grammy controversy. That was MTV's fault.

James Hetfield grew up in my old neighborhood of Downey, I didn't know him but....Dave Alvin and John Bass of the Blasters did also. I think the boring quality of the place inspired something....!
