Hello everyone. I received the new Thick as a Brick 40th Anniversary package and the DVD won't play on my 3 year old iMac. After speaking with Apple support they told me that it appears the Imac can't recognize the DVD format. I sent it back and got a replacement and even that won't play. It's odd because it will play everywhere else and the TAAB2 DVD didn't have this problem. It sucks because I listen to most of my music off of it so I won't get to enjoy the remix in my home. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and wanted to give a heads up to those where this may be an issue. Carry on.

There are a large amount of complaints regarding this. Amazon has quite a few people posting comments about this. It seems it happens only in the 5.1 mix. My copy is not flawed. I wonder what EMI will do to alleviate this problem

You need to get yourself a bigger monitor Jim. LOL ! I wish it was double in size. ;D I need all the help I can get. On a serious note, how much time should pass before the new "TAAB" is certified to be without glitches?

The DVD plays fine on my Blu Ray, an Oppo BDP93. (Now replaced by the BDP103) www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-93/There are apparently some glitches, but I really only noticed one around 2 min mark. The newer Blu Ray players will apparently decode the DTS stream in 96k resolution - I feed the 5.1 analog outputs to my Yamaha surround amp. With a good player like this there are never any compatibility problems with practically any format; DVD, CD, Blu Ray, mp3, flac, etc! However, I'm still a little disappointed with the sound quality - the Aqualung Blu Ray HD Master audio kills the TAAB DTS! The DVD also does not have high enough resolution to read the fine print on the newspaper - obviously designed for Blu Ray 1080p! Ridiculous, EMI(*end rant mode*) Geoff

SW asked me to come in, have a listen, and assist in it's fix but I can't possibly get out there until next week! Okay you got me. I have not a clue. I got that info off the official site and will continue to monitor it to let everyone know when it's been fixed.

Sic 'em Paul. ;D ;D We need the Board in on this too. SW asked me to come in, have a listen, and assist in it's fix but I can't possibly get out there until next week! SW: It’s unfortunate that surround didn’t get the best start, and there were some notoriously bad surround mixes of great catalog albums. That gave 5.1 a bad name, and surround lost momentum. I think the work I and other people have done brought back a little bit of the respect for surround as a music format. It’s also the complete antithesis of download culture; 5.1 music, like the Jethro Tull Aqualung Blu-ray I just finished, is the complete opposite of that. www.hometheater.com/content/steven-wilson-getting-surrounded-music
