I will be buying a new 7" single to add to the collection.. Me also, but these record store day deals are usually tough to get. Considering it's Tull we may get lucky.

My local record store has put a bid in for a copy or 2, so hopefully I will be lucky enough to get one.

The total available from this pressing run is 3,929, not a huge amount when distributed across the country. Many stores listed in the ERA group as participating include major supermarkets such as Sainsbury's and Tesco, which I wouldn't have thought conform in any way, shape or form to an independent record store. And, given their lack of support for any music unless it is a cheap rehash or a chart album then the chance of a 7" vinyl Tull EP turning up there is about as likely as not finding horse-meat in your beef lasagne.
I've been in touch with a few independents as well who have said that they would either not be stocking a Tull EP or they now focus on second hand records and so would not even be getting involved in Record Store day.....and they wonder why they are going out of business.
So, there you have it, if you're willing to trek around the few stores that might be open, participating in Record Store day and stocking it, then you might stand a chance.....
Hey Santa, pass us that limited edition 33 RPM Jethro Tull Record Store day EP will ya.....

Well, the chances diminish even further with the news that the distribution of 3,929 is worldwide, not just the UK.
So, here's this week's lottery numbers.....
Jethro Tull – RSD Bulgaria (3) Ukraine (2) Croatia (20) Serbia (5) Slovenia (27) Arabia (4) Australia (150) Belgium (75) Canada (200) Czech Republic & Hungary (60) Denmark (10) Finland (100) Germany (750) Austria (50) Greece (50) Italy (400) Japan (100) Netherlands (500) Norway (50) Spain (93) Sweden (200) Taiwan (7) UK (1050) Israel (10) Russia (10) Iceland (3) Total 3929

..Just look on E bay.... probably 50 or more copies. I am sure that these stores held on to them and then hoped to gaffe the public trying to selling them for a hefty profit. Screwing the true fans and such. I also would not be surprised if they release more of them. I am still PISSED OFF that NONE where made available in the United States...thanks... I did secure a copy for a "semi" reasonable price..

Charlie will not be denied! I took my 16 year old daughter and a few friends over to a small shop on Record Store day. Interesting to see their purchases. The Strokes, Bela Fleck, Benny Goodman and Radiohead. When we got home, I dug out my turntable for them and offered them to peruse my albums... Interesting to see what they picked out to play: Abbey Road, U2, and few Rush and Floyd lps. Watching them explore and discover this stuff brought back memories of good times.
