Ozzy, Geezer, Iommi and on the drums Brad Wilk from Rage Against the Machine.
Nice to see 60+ year old bastards still playing monster riffs.
*sighs*
I miss the 70s.

I reckon they're a bit old for this lol. I liked ozzy and sabbath up until about 82. But the best years were 70-73

Definitely sounds like modern sabbath I was looking forward to hearing this since I heard about it. The riffing in the latter part of the song is great.

I saw them perform tonight. They were unbe#@!!%$##lievable! Plenty of energy, and great lighting and video. Really really enjoyed the show. Relived being 15 again. Geoff

The riff at about 6:20 is pure Sabbath circa Master of Reality or Vol. IV. In fact, they could have just deleted the first 4 or 5 minutes of the song.

Sounds not too shabby, perhaps a little sterile?
Although Ozzy deserves respect I find it hard to watch him without a smile breaking out. "for fook's sake Sharon"
Sabbath got the kick up the arse they needed when Dio joined with two powerful albums. I also quite liked the stuff they did with Tony Martin. I read Iommi's book last summer and found it very entertaining, they sure lived the rock & roll way.
They are touring my way later in the year and I've got a ticket unless Ozzy's alleged drinking gets the better of him. Last time was the Heaven & Hell tour a few years ago with Dio and it beats me how they got the sound quaility to match the volume.
All just my opinion of course.

I'm diggin' it! I do so wish Bill was drumming for a full and proper 100% Black Sabbath return but I respect and understand his reasons. I have always been a fan of Black Sabbath and like Tull all of the incarnations have some stellar work on them. If my two favorite bands keep putting out new material I will be there to give it a go every time. I may not love it all but I will support them til I draw my last breath.

They played here in melbourne last night. I've had all their 70s albums plus theirs and ozzys early 80s on cd since I was 20. But I hardly like any thing sabbath and ozzy have done in the last 30 years so I was happy giving the concert a miss

Well I enjoyed it. One more tick on the bucket list! Geoff

Wow, great photo. Must have been a hell of a show.
Listening to this the second time I am noticing the absence of Ward's distinct drumming. Rage Against the Machine is good, but Sabbath set the standard.

Thanks M. I like this tune. One of my first albums was Paranoid. Now, for the sake of consistency it would be fun to hear your in depth critique of the song. If we go there, gotta admit it's lyrically and musically cliche. But I guess, who cares- it's Sabbath. Ian must adhere to a much higher standard, which, I believe, he does -- especially in TAAB2

This thread gets me hankering for a Best of Sabbath afternoon! And, as a bonus, it's raining sideways outside!

I'm digging this song - sounds like classic Masters Of Reality/Vol. 4 era Sabbath, yet still modern at the same time. Sucks that money and petty bullshit is keeping Bill from participating, but I've also read from the other side that he just physically doesn't have his playing chops together anymore which is sad since he's one of my drumming idols. Regardless, I have my tickets for August 8th in hand....I'm not missing them - who knows how many more chances there will be to see them? They're fooking old man! ;D
