Lost touch with Rush until the 90's when I took a punt with their Counterparts album.
The song Nobody's Hero was to my liking straight off.
Missed the last couple of tours due to their pricing being a tad too high. There are very few bands left now I would pay top dollar to see.

That's interesting I don't have too much of Rush, but I have Grace under pressure and love it. Under wraps on the other hand, has just 2 or 3 songs I like, it's my least favourite Tull album. Pieter

Happy birthday Mothy. Hope all your dreams come true over the coming year ... or at least some of your favorites. Hope you're feeling better also. I'll eat a slice of birthday cake in your honor today, but I'll wash it down with Gatorade. Hope that didn't vaporize you, ..uh, give you the vapores.

Hi Mike, thank you, that was fine. Though today, not one thing sounded good to eat or drink. Just some seltzer. That's all I got.

Well at least you brought the riodents back! Now this feels like a real Tull board. I've missed them seasonal critters. I sent you an e-b'day card too, just in case you missed the B'day wishes here. Not quite as scarry as the other one. Well, yeah it is too, worse even, but there's something else there to soften it up.

Haha Mike you always answer my posts in different threads, it's like a scavenger hunt. Ooh, I'll go check.
Back then I believe I also made you guys a St. Patrick's Day riodent card too, so we may have that to look forward to too. There's at least one or two others that I made too that don't really make much sense 9 years later that I think must have been some kind of running gag we had going at the time.

I don't mean to hide, I guess I just post where I am at the time. Sort of like a dog, who sleeps where ever tired happens to catch him. In fact I think I live that way mostly. I am looking forward to St Pat's Day then if we are to see the shamrock riodents again. That was a classic. Also, thanks much for the pics! I would love to answer your respose but .... 1. you won't find it for a week to a year later, and 2. my computer ate it after I read it. Saved the pics however. Wife said, "Those are the most beautiful children I've ever seen." I agree. My, how they've grown!

Aww, Mike that's great. I also found a riodent pic that I made for someone at the old board that said "Happy Anniversary ya riodents!" or something similar. I had a feeling it was for you. I had photoshopped a cowboy hat on one and a crown on the other. And put a flower and a banana in the picture too. That's why years later, I'm kind of...wha? haha, it must've meant something funny then. Don't know. Man, your profile picture is kind of freaky now.

Yeah, that freaky pic is the real me actually. I'm an alien from the planet Noavatar.

Mike, I think you need a Yesavatar?

I think a thorough investigation should be launched now that I think on it. Or, you could repost it which might jog an old memory cell. A yesavatar? I might lose my mystique. Jeff picked out my last one a few years ago, "The Crowbar," which soon after went illegal. Perhaps now that you are on the payroll here you could pick out my next one. I'm not very good at choosing pictures and frames. It might clash with TM's new decor. Women are just better at these things, as they are most things actually. What say you?

The banana thing was probably my old banana Tull phone thing. There's that old story about the 04 show when I took an audio recording on my phone. That's the best that I could do on my old phone. The sound was horrid. There was almost ten minutes of 'My God' being played. I also called my own phone at home so I could record some of the show on my answering machine. I am also known to call people who aren't present at the show so they can hear some of it, even unwillingly, or it leaves it as a message on their phone. I'm really obnoxious with Tull and phones. I don't think I did any of that this year though. I met new people and didn't want them to think I was crazy. But with that recording on my cell phone, I used to play it all the time, like in super markets and it was just really screechy and static-y. I'd hide it under the groceries and pretend I didn't know where the sound was coming from and drive Kenneth crazy as people would look at us. Then I'd pretend to answer it sometimes but answer a banana instead. Heck, why don't I just put the picture here... If that was for your anniversary...then I'm sorry. haha. What kind of photo would you like for your avatar? Most people here pick Tull ones but you don't have to. I told you we had a Crowe Bar in my old town, right? I don't know if it's still open.

I can actually relate because I used to do crazy stuff like that too, only not with phones and friut. The riodent pics are as I remembered alright but I'm at a loss still as to the anniversary thing so no apology needed. In fact it would have been a good anniversary card for me. At least the banana thing has been explained ... sort of. I should get you to photoshop me some darker hair, thinner body and something besides camo to wear, with your photoshop skills. Jeff had me the Crowe bar avatar but it had to be removed, or so I supposed. So yeah, I do remember your telling me that. I'm not picky. If you wish to take the time fine, your choice, take a shot. If not, then I shall remain a benevolant gray alien from Noavatar, until I get round to it anyway.

Sometimes I'd answer the banana and have a whole conversation. "Hi. I'm in the store right now and the reception is bad. I'll have to call you back" and stuff like that just to annoy the husband. I annoyed my friend Jen on a bus ride to NYC at 6 am with the screeching Tull recording as well. Everyone was trying to rest and it was quiet and I was playing that on the phone. Jen opened her eyes and glared at me. But of course that just makes me want to giggle.
Jeez, well I don't know what to give you if you don't have any specifics.
We should have just a Mike and Moth thread where we go on and on about nothing.

We should have just a Mike and Moth thread where we go on and on about nothing. Well, I used to enjoy being irritating, it was my MO growing up, I excelled at it. I would just see how far I could go with something until I got the belt. I don't know why, but then one day I figured enough was enough. I can still have those moments but I know when to squelch it now. I mean, I see Conan O'Brian on TV and I think, "God, he's so annoying. What a wimp. I don't want to be one of those." I have no Avatarian specifics, other than not to be too specific. I haven't a clue. If you wish not to tackle it then perhaps I may come up with something later. I just thought I'd give you the ball first. I guess we could have a "Thread About Nothing" or M&M (Moth&Mike) catagory somewhere, but then I often feel I'm wasting good space as is. Your post just seem so irrisistable most of time - always have for some reason. I don't know if I have another St. Pat's Day staircase conumdrum in me anymore. But then again ... if there's anybody who could draw it out of me it would be you I guess. Best not to tempt fate, hee hee.

Nah, no way, the M&M idea would be great...not wasting space...not anymore than turning Geddy Lee threads into....this. HA.
Aww, too bad this board isn't the same format as the other...I don't think this one can staircase! On second thought, no not too bad, that board was kinda bad, this is better. hahaha. I can't even remember what was talked about, do you?

I can't even remember what was talked about, do you? Well, yes, I was known to hijack a thread in days yonder wasn't I. But everybody did eventually. I like this format okay but the old one had some weird advantages, such as the quote thing, where you could reply to a word or sentence easily (like I do your emails), or create staircases, hicups, and total confusion, which had it's place at times. It was primitive so one could hide in the weeds and then reappear and scare the crap out of somebody. Headings meant nothing and there was no police, which was bad really, but funny. I remember first talking about art, as far as you and I that is - music, dance, hopes n dreams, then lyrics, then silliness, then just blabbing on for the sake of blabbing, which contrasted nicely against the politics, Tull bashing, nationalism, philosophy and fueds - and the trolls of course, which was previlant for a time. Can't believe I was a top two poster in those days. Otherwise I don't remember much else except the clicks, or small neighborhoods that formed, and building staircases just to see how long something could go on whilst others complained. Being a former writer, more time then, and having an unexplainable complusion to reply to your post when possible (as still evidenced by this meaningless reply), probably contributed to the bulk of those days - but you certainly helped.

Ha...I remember that, the other board was very archaic and you could just brand off of one topic and name the new post something completely different and then people couldn't branch off that too...It was crazy. Sometimes you just no idea what someone was responding too...I remember we had a running gag because someone responded to something and it just said, "That is not good news indeed" and no one had any idea what they were referring to...hahaha. I remember discussing Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, St. Patrick's Day (obviously) my birthday and Broadsword and the Beast lyrics (specifically being 'long in the tooth')
I remember when I first joined the board, it took me awhile to figure out that the default settings had it so it showed me the oldest posts first (why??) and I was responding to some not realizing it was 6 months old and I think people had no idea what the heck I was doing. I couldn't figure out how to post and couldn't figure out when someone was responding to me. It was usually Ryan saying something rude (remember how mean he was at first?) hahaha. He turned out to be great and everything, he thought I just had to be a troll and obviously not really a female. I think it took till TM meeting me and confirming I was a real person till he settled down. Good times.

Blue solved the long in the tooth riddle. She knows most everything fortunatly. Forgot about Riverdance. What ever happened to Ryan anyway? I fueded with him daily for a while, then we became mates, over baseball I think it was. They should require the UN members to watch baseball, then we could have more peace in the world.

Jeff Welcome back my old friend, and a Happy New Year to you and yours as well! And thanks for the belated welcome. Right, you disappeared around August I think, and I came stumbling back in, wounded, old and treacherous, in September I believe. My new routine has allowed me some time, usually in the wee hours, to come play again, at least for now, after an intense couple of years away. Hope things are settled a bit for you these days, as we load up to seize what is left in the Tull tank in these last remaing years. Well, I finally made "Striped Bassist." Sounds like a fish, but it beats "Ethic Squeezy Thing" four ways from Sunday. Glad you're back.
