A really nice quality pro-shot video has recently surfaced to collectors after 30 years. This show from Passaic NJ 1984 (I know some of you were there) was filmed by Mtv and 3 songs were used for the Rock Influences show (which has been around on vhs forever) What has recently surfaced was a DVD of the whole show with excellent picture and sound! I see the entire thing is now streaming at paste.com. Check it out. I highly recommend Fly by Night and The Clasp! www.paste.com/video/jethro-tull/1011830#./1011829

I was there - alone! Thanks Erin. Very cool Paul! I'm sure the bootleggers see dollar $igns. And too bad Tull couldn't use this for the Live through the years DVD. The Tanglewood Video on the same page is the clean version without the time strip.

It was one of the few tours that hasn't been adequately preserved on video. I saw them twice that year but only remember one.(Really bad sign.) Dan

Tulltapes - you continue to amaze! the '84 tour was not my favorite - I remember thinking Tull had completely lost it - but this video is amazing! I love the opening sequence of unwrapping Martin and the Locomotive Breath into. I am very grateful for all of your efforts in finding and sharing these priceless documents of my favorite band! Thank you!

Very cool footage! A few observations....this was the most definitively "80's" period of Tull, from sounds, to instruments & equipment, to fashion (not that it's a good thing)....whatever synthesier rig PJV was using, it could never come close to sounding as good as a real Hammond B3....Dave Pegg is sorely missed....were the stage lights extra hot on this tour, because I don't recall Ian ever sweating that much!
