Jethro Tull Live In Switzerland 2003 [triple clear vinyl box set pre-order from Burning Shed] Live In Switzerland, 2003 documents Jethro Tull's first [and so far only] visit to the justly famed Montreux Festival. Split into a semi-acoustic first half and an all electric second half, the concert was considered a triumph, and combined newer songs such as Dot Com and Budapest with enduring favourites including Aqualung, Life Is A Long Song and Living In The Past. This triple clear [140g] vinyl box set edition provides an ideal memento of a special occasion in the history of one of Rock's truly classic bands. Strictly limited to 1000 copies globally. Pre-order for 19th April release. Tracks Side 1: 1. Some Day The Sun Won't Shine For You 2. Life Is A Long Song 3. Bouree 4. With You There To Help Me Side 2: 1. Pavane 2. Empty Cafe 3. Hunting Girl 4. Eurology Side 3: 1. Dot Com 2. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen 3. Fat Man Side 4: 1. Living In The Past 2. Nothing Is Easy 3. Beside Myself Side 5: 1. My God 2. Budapest Side 6: 1. New Jig 2. Aqualung 3. Locomotive Breath

Of all the live releases to give the vinyl treatment... why this one? There is no way that was recorded analogue.... why not have dug into the vaults?

I understand your frustation LJG. However I think for Ian as a musician is nice to release more recent things, rather then the old ones over and over again. I won't buy it though.

Yes... but this one has already been 're-packaged' a couple times (e.g., when the Blu-Ray release happened). And I'm not really sure that dipping into later-period Jethro Tull is the kind of 'moving forward' Ian has been talking about. Why not give us a proper live release culled from the Rubbing Elbows tour or some other Ian-related venture if he truly wants to push forward... I guess I should just be happy that new stuff is continuing to be produced.

LOL. I know I've told this story before......but it's worth telling again! When Ian came over to me, I let loose with what was intended to be a kazoo interpretation of his flute solo, but I don't know what the hell came out of me! I wasn't nervous, but what I "playing" just made no sense! So Ian gave me the "weird eyes" stare (!) as I'm playing and glances to my buddy who does me a solid, signaling all is well. So Ian stays with me as I battle my way back into my chug-a-chug-a kazoo solo that ended with a trill! When I got done I looked to my right and saw some bloke stand up and raise his fist in the air yelling "yeah"!!!

Ian didn't know what was missing until it hit him.

I ordered this, even though I already have the shortened vinyl version, and the Blu Ray. Heck, there will only be 1000 copies! And so what if it was recorded digitally? Hi-res digital is fine to cut to vinyl.

Sorry, but don't we all own this already?

Sorry, but don't we all own this already? I've been thinking the same thing. I've had this for years.
