One of the amazing things about Ian is that he's as comfortable penning a 45min opus as he is a 1.5 minute character study.
But I don't think I can think of a band who has consistently delivered short tracks of such an incredibly high quality. Ian is the master of the 1.5min song.

How Freudian of you, m'dear. Who said length doesn't matter? ...of songs...I meant songs.... Ummm...I like Solitaire the best...which I suppose is Freudian in and of itself.

Well...I do know it's quality, not quantity...but never mind, never mind. I was going to go into detail about why I seem to like the longer tracks but any which way I try to word it, it will be interpreted...the other way. Definitely, a "that's what she said" moment. Amazing how this happens. In other news, Moths isn't too long of a track and I just can't wait to play that when it starts to get warm...and I actually see those first moths.

No, there's nothing terrible about it at all, I just wanted to make that hummm joke. Seriously, though, it sounds like another poetry reading in the vein of Brick 2, very similar to The Power and the Spirit . I was hoping there wouldn't be very much of the poetry or spoken word stuff, but so far there are two that we know of, Heavy Metals and the other one near the end, which I will call "the what-ifs, maybes and might-have-been clone" because I forget the name. Both sound exactly like Brick 2. Jeff

Wondering Aloud is a work of sheer genius.

Wondering Aloud is a work of sheer genius. I agree, and I also think it's one of the most beautiful love songs ever written. There is actually a sequel to it, and I'm not talking about Wondring Again (although that is obviously a sequel too), I'm talking about The Jasmine Corridor, which is looking back over the years, whereas Wondering Aloud was looking forward. He sings TJC in the same vocal tone, and the acoustic guitar on that song reminds me of the acoustic pieces from the Aqualung album. Jeff

About Under Wraps #2, it is really good indeed. I also like 17, but the long version is even better!
