Let's toss some digits around. In 1972/73, Tull could easily sell out a Madison Square Garden type venue for two nights. 18,500 per show for a total of 37,000. Let's say out of those 37,000, 1000 were and still are die-hard Tull fans. Now of those 1,000, I would say give or take 200, between 800 and 1200 absolutely HAVE to attend a Tull show in the NYC area. Now stick with me, this is going to get complicated. Now, if Tull plays a 4000 seat venue in 2010 and sells it out or comes somewhat close to selling out, WHO is attending? First we have the 1000 hardcore fans. 4000 - 1000 = 3000 remaining seats. Now remember those 37,000 punters from 1972? 37,000 - 1000 hardcore fans = 36000. 36000 represents the pool of knuckleheads who could potentially buy the remaining 3000 tickets for a show. 36000 divided by 3000 = 12. That means Tull can continue to sell out shows, just by churning the knucklehead pool every 12 years. I think my numbers pretty much add up even taking into consideration fan deaths who are replaced by brainwashed children of knuckleheads. Whaddya think?

Sorry. I couldnt resist coming back for this one! (Ahh...my 1 day posting retirement is over...for now) Max, you have put it so right! Your math is impeccable! Seroiusly, you nailed it And, actually, they play mostly at 1,000-2,000 seaters now, so ur math is even more relevant.
Another HONEST, true Tull fan (I think)
Love your perfectly used word: Knucklehead/s.
Just read a post on the "Mind your manners, Ian may read these posts from time to time---Col" Board. A guy said "I dont know what people are complaining about. Ian's voice was great, the band was so energetic and as great as they were in their hey day. I rocked my socks off!"
Seriously...this was the quote. I hope he's enjoying some warm milk before he goes to bed. Because this dude really had a wild & crazy "rock ur socks off" kind of nite'! I cant take this knuckle-headedness any more! I'd better throw my computer out of get some "masochism therapy group". Argh!!
