The gig was last night at the Royal Albert Hall and comprised several different artistes celebrating the 65th anniversary of VE Day. So far no reviews or Youtube clips but by the look of some I have seen of Red Army dancers, as well as the potential advertised line-up, I suspect Tull didn't do much more than a short set of a couple of numbers, but I stand to be corrected if anyone can find out more info. As I said no reviews in today's early editions of our broadsheet press that I could find, nor in their on-line versions, but I'll keep checking, subject to work committments! In the meantime I did notice that some of the female Red Army dancers at the Moscow celebrations did seem to be missing Ian somewhat! Joking aside; It should also be remembered that it was also a great time for sadness and remembrance, as well as celebration, as countless numbers of people and families across all of Europe tried to move on despite their many dead and while many Countries were left to try and rebuild their nations. Some of my family [before I arrived!] including my mum, Aunts and older Borther and Sister with a few other 'Warchilds' enjoying themselves at a VE day street party in Bermondsey, one of the areas of London which suffered heavily during the Blitz.

That is a fantastic post, Pat, I really enjoyed how you presented it, combining both the celebratory and humorous aspect with the serious meaning of the day. Both photos are pure gold. The one of the nubile Russian dancers, displaying their creamy white thighs whilst all perched, in unison, in their Ian-esque stances, could easily be the cover photo for the Said She Was a Dancer single! The vintage photo of the Victory day party, with photos of your family members, is wonderful. It would be great if you can add some pointers, or better yet, maybe a fun contest called "Spot Quizz Kid's Kin" where we can all try to guess! Seriously, though, your family members must have some heart-wrenching stories to tell about the war. I can't even imagine the terrifying feeling of living in a city where bombs are continually dropping in residential neighborhoods, although I once did experience something very close to that, as you know. Let's keep an open eye out for the first reviews and videos of the VE day concert last night. It will be interesting to see whether Tull performed anything different for this occasion.

Jeff No Tull images or music that I could find in quickly scanning these two slideshows of still photo's on YouTube, I presume that if Tull did appear they would follow Rick Wakeman, who appears at the end of the second slideshow, so maybe another slideshow to come.

This is baffling me. Did anyone attend this?
I have been stuck in a quasi-legal inquiry for the last two weeks and in the downtime when I haven't been giving evidence I have dipped into the wonderful world-wide web thing trying to track down any mention of Tull and this gig.
Other than the above, nothing.
Did they play? Did they pull out?
Any answers greatly appreciated and if anyone finds a link to a review or even a set list could they post it, if only to put me out of my misery.

Makes me feel like I'm in a parallel universe....not that I'm all alone in it though! From the excellent Ministry of Information website they have this.... "Royal Albert Hall London, UK WWII Commemoration Gala. Benefit concert for the British Red Cross, marking the 65th anniversary of the end of the war.
Line-up: Ian, Florian Opahle, David Goodier, John O'Hara, Doane Perry
Included a 9-min performance by Tull after 23:15 - when many of the audience had left or were leaving for trains."The set list was: "Bourée/We'll Meet Again, Locomotive Breath/Dambusters' March (with a German guitarist...)."Somehow, I don't think I missed much, uness Vera Lynn joined in on We'll meet again!
