Apparently yes. An actor's voice, but very pleasant to hear. I can imagine him being the 'singing actor' Ian has talked about.

Old School Song takes the pie out of the 8 samples I've heard. All the 13 samples I heard on amazon sound pretty good. This is going to be a Great album. Come on' April. There's money in them hills.

Having heard the Amazon sample of swing it far I have changed my mind and am now moving towards another vocalist. A few years ago John O'hara sang his own tune at a Tull concert in Blackburn ..could this be his voice ? It has to be another vocalist, not Ian. While all the time, life slips away.

Wow...this time around it sounds much more promising! But this may not be a good news, as I might die of waiting.. lol. I've hit the "play all" button a couple times this morning already! So have I. Man came and went in his moments of madness.

Yes, this makes sense, particulary when we know that John O'Harra was also involved in Quadrophenia, so there must be a link. But then again, this still doesn't prove that the guy who sings on the record is the same who will perform on stage, but its quite likely anyway.

In looking back, has there ever been a Tull album that you simply connected with upon the very first listen? All of them through Passion Play, I think. Everything else has taken a little work. " Crest of a Knave," came close.

Look overall from small samples....I like it! Its about time we got SOMETHING new from Ian and or the band....so I embrace it and wait for the real full cd to get released!

I like the second batch of sample a bit more. I'm sure it's been previously said, but the style in which Ian delivers the vocals really brings them down. The spoken word thing is pure dreck.

The vocals sure sound different to me. He seems to be singing in a "cleaner" style and then uses 'effects' to give his voice a grittier sound. I'm not sure I like either. But I'll have to wait and see after I hear the entire thing about 200 times.

Shunt and Shuffle sounds pretty cool. Almost Locomotive Breath-ish in style with piano that sounds as if John Evans was back!

I'm sure it has something to do with how low of a key he's singing in, but I can almost hear a glimpse of the old Ian's vocals coming through in Give Till It Hurts.

Perhaps he saw a vocal coach? I know Roger Waters did before touring "The Wall". "Wooton Bassett Town" sounds like an epic reworking of "Banker Bets, Banker Wins". Very cool!

Just like Thick as a Brick alot of the musical themes pop up again, and again throughout the album. Wooten Bassett Town and What if's, Maybes, and Might Have Beens is essentially Banker Bets.. "What if's" also brings back A Pebble Thrown.

It reminds me of his Catfish Rising era vocals, which is pretty good still (they sound stronger than his current vocals). If he only sang Budapest like this live...

What I have heard sounds great! As much as I and others wish it was the 1972 line-up, we have to accept that it is not and take it for what it is. However, I do think Ian should have had Doane Perry, Jonathan Noyce and Dave Pegg on it.
