Janu brillant Thanks for the nu post I love Paraiso De Flutas probably my favourite from that CD. Any chance of a rough translation of the words ..it sounds so emotive ..bet its about a girl who jilts a lad. Preston thanks for your feedback and for your Ñu's music appreciation. For that reason i'm going to throw myself into the ring trying to lend all of you a reasonable translation, though being a hard work I'll do them with a big illusion for our love of flute music specially towards the Tull one. I believe they have been ended stunning, doesn't it for you? Hope yes. I know well they could have been ended much more better in the hands of an english teacher but it's all what we have got for now In the beginning flutes sounded quietly And the monster came and swept them away. Now flutes didn’t sound quietly anymore, Looking for the demon who finally disturbed them. Who did destroy the known peace? Who was responsible for that curse? Who did invent violence and anger? And instead of humiliation, he singed a song. I was once in that country of dreams. I enjoyed the calm of that blue planet. Flutes of elves were drawing melodies, The sea and the power of universe were the nobility Silver Snakes slipped away themselves, Ladys who played with glass cats, Flutes of elves were drawing melodies, The sea and the power of universe were the nobility. Tough one day a mistake happened and so evolution was born. Somebody thought of being back in time, They shut their mouth, cut them his hair. Then a wind roar was listened, Trying to advice him all was a dream. Now a magician is breaking the spell With a song he who learnt from a friend. His magic found the power over time, And he viewed that the truth was coming back to the beginning The One tube has been a brilliant listen as I was writing the hard work of this translation. I'm feeling f****g good. That the party of this thread continues.

A promise is a promise and here I go with that surprise . A band of the 60's from your nearest lands, Scotland, pure flute psychodelic prog rock sound. Their album was rated as a highly eclectic one and their style as folky vein. I've been looking through the whole thread and I didn't see anything of them posted, which has been strange for me them being from the Islands. How have i met them? it's a secret ;D I have my own inside information points which I won't ever reveal it, for the good health of this thread of my dear mate Preston. It's dedicated in particular to you to have created this very enjoyable thread. Well, i stop talking yet to let you listening to these scottish band, Synanthesia with their tune, The Tale Of The Spider and The Fly. Good title. Everyone around here will delight them Ian may have already known them, they're fellow countrymen.

Another stunning Synanthesia's song, with a more resembling sound of Tull style. Rolling & Tumbling. Awesome.

No comments so far, what shall i be doing bad? don't know... I sometimes think whether the songs are listened by anybody . Hi Janu, and good health to you and yours, No, they are listened to, everyone single of them, so thanks for finding them and posting them here; and apologies for not replying, you shouldn't think that a lack of replies means no one is grateful or listens to them, with the numbers of members here who access the site you can bet your bottom dollar that your dectective work in fidning these gems is appreciated. It seems a common thread that in many of these bands the flute player/flutist/flautist pretty much always sounds as if they have been influenced by Ian,. I have to say that I'm not a lover of all flute driven songs but it is great to get the opportunity to hear them, so thanks for doing all the hard work in locating them and bringing them to the board. Pat

I'm refraining from replying because, of late, I seem to be a conversation ender; one word from me and the subject goes dead. I'm becoming a bit selfconcious about it. Here's hoping I don't jinx you.

Well, never mind, iI'll hopefully follow showing you more gems of flute prog rock unknown bands, like Johnny Harris playing Stepping Stones. Good health!. Part of the problem is that all of us are so freakin' overwhelmed with everything....jobs, family, etc., so it's hard to get to everything here right away. There are so many things I would like to be posting on the board, but time is becoming an issue. You've got to give it a little longer, Janu. I do come back to this thread periodically and listen and comment on some of the videos, but there probably are close to 200 vids in this thread so it's not easy to hear them all, but one day I will catch up! I just gave this one a listen, and the opening flute blasts have that same shrill and breathy quality (similar to the beginning of Birthday Card at Christmas) that we all love so much. The rest of the piece is interesting too, it reminds me a little of some of the funky theme songs from television shows of the seventies. Jeff

Pat Thanks for your feedback, fellows Pat, Blue, Jeff and Preston, be sure I highly appreciate your support. Maybe you think i'm crying too much, I'm sorry for, mates. I know well you're working as hard as you can for the sake of this board and this isn't easy for us having our own life out there, work, family, sports, and much more, though Tull music, too and this thread of such good flute music, of course. Now everything is all right and I'm feeling much better knowing I'm not walking alone in here (Liverpool's football team famous saying) ;D . THANKS. Long Live the flute prog rock Thread!! buddies Forever. I Stop crying myself and I continue adding more good stuff now with a quite different style tube with some flute, sax, good prog sound overall which I liked it a lot and wanted to share with you. It surprised me a lot listening those sudden changes of swing. From Italy Roberto Colombo. Enjoy everybody.

la Torre del Alquimista, a very good song of this band of flute progressive rock. I didn't know them. Thanks Preston.
Without stopping here is another good german progressive jazz-rock band, Puppenhaus, with their song of 1973 Anfang. A lot of stunning sax and guitar playing and a bit of fairly good flute at some parts of the tune. IMO their sound looks like a bit King Crimson even with the cover artwork of their album. Listen, enjoy & comment ;D

Nice one Janu. I am familiar with Puppenhaus
Anyway here is something I am sure people might also enjoy. A track from Atilla Kollar I posted some of his stuff earlier in the thread, but it was removed from you tube. I like his music both as a solo artist and with Solaris . Much of the Solaris stuff was also removed so probably here for a short while

hi Preston, I really enjoyed the Musical Witchcraft track from Kollar Attila, a piercing sound that gets you caught. Excellent. As so it is the Solaris tracks you added it. A moving style theirs.
Tee city tube hasn't been still posted on this thread, don't worry because now i'm patiently looking through the whole thread to be sure what yes or not were already posted. I liked japanese Tee, too.
Plamp, from Switzerland, nice flute sound mixed up with powerful guitars, I liked them and even I found similarities with some Tull's stages.
Well, I have some good and bad news. I had a big surprise ready for all of you, the good one, but sadly there aren't any tubes of the tracks i wished to let you know, the bad one, ;D. Though by the way i found a song from that album but without flute playing on which I'm adding in this post. Anyway there are others ones from a different album of them and yes accompanied with flute playing.
The name of the band is Accolade 2 and come from UK and as many other bands from that era they just lasted two years, from 1969 to 1971. It's a big pity.
I'm copying here a short and interesting review of them which is included in the tube i'm going to add. Enjoy.
Formed 1969, United Kingdom Disbanded 1971 Members: Eden Abba (double-bass), Brian Cresswell (saxophone, flute), Gordon Giltrap (guitar, vocals), Ian Hoyle (drums), Don Partridge (guitar, vocals, vibraphone), Malcolm Poole (double-bass)
This is great! A flute and folk guitar together, similar to a well sung Jethro Tull. Don Partridge, the vocalist appears by himself later in his career. includes Brian Cresswell, Malcolm Poole, and Ian Hoyle. Wizz Jones plays acoustic guitar on four songs, and one of the songs is a Gordon Giltrap cover tune. My favorite song is 'transworld blues' on the first three listens, but I'm sure with repeated turns, this one will offer up many layers of beauty.
And here the flute playing song of Accolade 2
You haven't still listened the album I wanted you do, though maybe you'll do it, by other means not being Youtube. What are you saying, opinions? For me they look like a lot the first Tulls, don't they?. At least they both practise the same style, progressive folk rock and the singer's voice is marvellous.
I'm going cycling for a while, I'll add here some pics, hehe .bye bye

Nature boy belongs to the same album of Ulisses track posted before by me and it appears at youtube too. Another good and quiet song from Accolade, Preston. Good recommendation. Some of the tracks of their first release are which I was wishing to let you listen in this thread. In particular the songs Transworld blues, The Spider To The Spy and Snakes In a Hole, to name some of them as the whole release is superb. There's a very good website about prog rock where you are able to read its review and the name of the songs. At the same time everybody in here must read on this same website the list of Top Prog Albums issued and look which album is the most voted. The list es sited at the right side of the page www.progarchives.com/By the way, If you have a look at the website top image, JT is also included, Aqualung, my friend sited at the left of the image, finally justice has been done An here i' m adding the link to the Accolade's album I'd like you all to listen. Maybe if you wish I could rip and hand it whoever you want www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=21187

I never drink just a hand rolling tobacco and not very oftetn with stumbles
