WARCHILD will be performing its 2nd annual Halloween weekend show, this time at Sullivan Hall in Greenwich Village, NYC on Halloween Eve, Sat. Oct. 30th from 7-8:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm). Come dressed in a Tullian costume and receive a small gift from the band! After WARCHILD, stay to hear the Rolling Stones tribute band Glimmer Twins......it'll almost be like re-living the Rolling Stones Rock 'N' Roll Circus, but with 23 Tull songs in addition to "Song For Jeffrey" (and without Tony Iommi )....info about tix and directions can be found at www.sullivanhallnyc.comHope to see some of you Jethro Tull Boardians there! Representatives of The Jethro Tull Board will be in attendance at the Halloween War Child show, and look forward to same! Jeff

Hope to see all you NYC area Tull fans at Sullivan Hall on Halloween Eve, preferably dressed in Tull-influenced costumes for a fun night with WARCHILD, playing the best of Tull from 7-8:30pm (doors open at 6:30). Go to www.sullivanhallnyc.com for details. It'll be a night to remember, and that's a Witch's Promise!

I'm planning on going, Jeff, how about you? I don't know about a costume though. My normal look is scary enough.

I'm planning on going, Jeff, how about you? I don't know about a costume though. My normal look is scary enough. Yes, I am definitely going to the War Child Halloween show/Tull costume party. And I was thinking that, at my current weight, all I would need is a turkey leg and a crown to go as King Henry VIII. Jeff

Before War Child were War Child, lead singer/flutist Paul Caruso fronted another local NYC-area tribute band Passion Play (not to be confused with the other defunct Passion Play band previously featured here).
Here, in a very old clip, is the predecessor to War Child performing Song for Jeffrey and Living in the Past. I'm guessing this video is from a performance at least 12-14 years ago, and it's with Glenn Cornick as special guest.

Thanks for sharing that Jeff. I'm fairly positive I was at the event! That was a Tull party I believe thrown by Ben V. I spent quite a bit of time talking with Glenn that afternoon. That was when he shared the story about changing out Mick's speakers! BTW, we need to acknowledge Paul, Mike (icecreamman) and all the guys of Warchild for a terrific show this past Halloween eve! Those guys really sound great and make for a fun evening.

Thanks Paul! It was great seeing you and nonfatman at the show---thanks for all the support! Have you gotten Jim Haddad (who surprised us all hopping out into the audience dressed as The Hare (Who Lost His Spectacles) to sign up to your board yet? My brother Alan (Rover) did by the way (he was hilariously dressed as the REAL Jethro Tull, complete with a "seed drill" and Tull's book on "Hoes and Horse-Husbandry"). I'll send you some pics and videos when we get them.

Having bitten the dust hundreds of years ago, it's no wonder that the real Jethro Tull needs a good long swig of cold beer. That's icecreamman's brother, Al, who dredged up the historical Mr. Tull in celebration of War Child's Halloween costume party. Jeff

This one isn't the greatest photograph, but if you look to the right of, and beyond, the striped bassist, you will discern the apparition of Mike "icecreamman" Grin, in full John Evan regalia, pounding, Frankenstein-like, on his keyboards. Jeff

Here's a great photograph taken of War Child at their Halloween show in NYC last October. As we've been saying, and as this photo shows, nobody pulls out all the stops like War Child in recreating the Tull live experience. We credit photographer, Wayne Herrschaft, who has given his permission for us to use his copyrighted photo -- it beats the hell out of the ones we took that night -- and we will be posting more of his photos from that show soon! Hi, I was wondering when Warchild might be playing again? I saw their last two shows at Sullivan and thought they were great. They've went missing since. Thanks, Paulie

Icecreaman, I see you're the very happy fellow on the keys holloween. I'm curious if you remember me. Nursie intrduced me to you after you guys were done playing. You noticed I had a Tull tatoo on my arm and you showed it to your brother and introduced me to him. I have long hair, a white beard and was wearing a cutoff denim jacket. During the show Nursie came down from the stage and gave me a Tull '76 Tampa dvd. What a blast from the past! I saw them for the first time at Shea Stadium that year. So, thank her for me and thank you and the rest of the band for a very entertaining evening. Hope to see you guys again soon Paulie

Hi, I was wondering when Warchild might be playing again? I saw their last two shows at Sullivan and thought they were great. They've went missing since. Thanks, Paulie Hi, Paulie, and welcome to The Jethro Tull Board! In answer to your question, I have asked Mike the same thing but as of now they do not have any dates planned. I think there was one show since the Halloween show, but it was somewhere upstate, and I couldn't go. The problem is that Nursie and the bassist, Bob, have recently moved to New Hampshire, so it's harder for the band to get together for practices and gigs. However, they did have a practice fairly recently and I cannot imagine that they will not do any shows over the summer. I'm guessing that War Child will probably do a few shows between now and August, and possible even one with Marcie and Paul, the former frontman of The Dayglo Pirates, who will be visiting in July. Check the board for further updates, or you can go to War Child's website or FB page. Good to have you aboard! Jeff

Thanks for the welcome Jeff. It would be a shame if they broke up. They seem to be the only Tull tribute band in N.Y. and a great one at that. It amazed me how they went the whole ten yards with their dress, celo, violins and glock to make their shows as close to the Jethro Tull experience as possible. Well, I hope they continue to play some shows this summer since the closest Tull is coming to N.Y. is Chicago this tour. I'll definately be monitoring this board and hope they'll play soon. Thanks again for the welcome. Paulie

Hi New Yorkers, I thought since Warchild is a N.Y. city based band and they seem to be on a extended hiatus from playing, I thought I might list some shows I'm going to in the near future since most of the people on this board are from this area. 6/14-15/11 Deep Purple-Beacon 6/16/11 Robiin Trower-B.B. King's 8/7/11 Reflections-B.B. King's 8/18/11 Levon Helm Band-Central Park 8/19/11 David Bromberg Band-N.Y.C. Winery 10/7-8/11 J.G.B. Band-Brooklyn Bowl 12/9-10/11 Hot Tuna-Beacon I hope I can add some Warchild gigs to this list soon and I hope it's helpfull to the N.E.eners on this board.

WARCHILD will be returning to Sullivan Hall in NYC on Sat. July 30th (6:30-8:30pm), with special guests Paul and Marcie Forrest, as the opening act, doing an Acoustic Tribute to Tull, followed by WARCHILD and it's "electric" tribute! Many of you Tull fans have known Paul Forrest as the fabulous frontman for the fantastic British Tull Tribute band "Dayglo Pirates", and he had the amazing opportunity to perform WITH Jethro Tull themselves at one of their 40th Anniversary tour concerts (@ Bournemouth); he and Marcie (also a wonderful flautist and singer) have joined forces to put out an acoustic album as "Sossity" and are now performing as an original act in Israel named "Footsteps". Also, on Fri. July 22nd, they will be putting on a 2 hr. (6-8pm) Footsteps show at P & G Bar in NYC (with both originals and Tull covers). Details are available at: www.facebook.com/pages/PGs-Bar-and-Grill/15834107345 AND www.sullivanhallnyc.com

It will be fun to see "dueling Paul-ians" together on stage! Plus, I think Marcie and Paul are still doing a gig at P&Gs a few nights earlier, from what I recall. Do you know anything about that? How's everything? I've been crazy busy at work lately. Let's go to lunch next week. Jeff

Jeff The P & G show is mentioned in my posting above (at the end), and I'll be sitting in with Paul and Marcie for a few songs. I've seen their set list and they are both "can't miss" shows, but I won't spoil the surprises...you'll just have to make it to both! Also, we just booked another concert at Sellersville Theater in Sellersville, Pennsylvania for Fri. Aug. 5th, during which we'll be performing 2 sets, including the entire Aqualung album live as it still the 40th anniversary of the album.....any Tull fans on the board from the Sellersville area out there?
