Sorry to hear that, sir! Can I offer you a cup of silver coffee, to keep you awake and avoiding terrible nightmares?

My name is Angela.
'A' leaves me pretty satisfied as well, The Pine Marten's Jig is insanity... I find I can really relate to it.

Well, the fact that you are discussing the idea will probably increase the chances of it happening!

Hmm... I feel like I have no second favorite.. Jethro Tull seems to overtake about 5 spots on my list. But I do like Led Zeppelin, Dean Martin, Ian Anderson, Elton John, Queen, Paul McCartney, The White Stripes... and the list goes on.. and on..

That's a fabulous idea! It would be especially interesting to post Jethro Tull themed dreams.. although I'm sure they are a rare occurrence.

In the midst of a blissful night sleep, I dreamed of a Jethro Tull performance like non other. I was with my friend watching the awe-inspiring Ian Anderson sing Broadford Bazaar and singing along to it when he looked up at me, and I smiled back to him. The music stopped and the crowd was quiet. Ian came to me, and I asked him what seemed like an average amount of questions, but he appeared annoyed. I followed him backstage and continued asking... The only response I vividly remember was him telling me that he was allergic to peanut butter but liked the imitation kind; he said he didn't like almond butter because it felt too big in his mouth. On and on, my questioning continued- unitl he asked me to leave him alone. I did not like this idea and so I threw him on the fire and ate his ribs. They were quite tasty and I can still feel the flesh on my teeth. I get a little shiver every now and again, remembering how human he tasted. Remember... this was only a dream.

I'm 18 and know of Andy Grifith! The Andy Grifith show has been my all-time favourite out of all the old shows . I was chocked when I heard he had died, this morning... kinda limited the enjoyment I had planned. He was such a wonderful person! I'm going to miss him!

I found Rupi's Dance to be delightful in its joyful/happy nature. It was so upbeat and really gave a bright twist to the brilliant collection that the Tull and the Anderson have created. I love it entirely... and listen to it whenever I'm craving cheerful tunes. I think it would be difficult to dislike this album due to the fact that each song carries so much emotion and because of how each song has an awesome chorus!!!!! Man, EVERY song on that album has such an undulating effect on my emotions.. (whatever that means). Rupi's Dance is so clearly inspired... Be happy about the happy Ian Andy.

I gave Serenade a bit of a go... enjoyed playin along with it. I definitely got frustrated, but didn't have as much of ahard time as I did with Bouree. The fingering on that one sent me for a loop! Living In The Past is rather easy and is in the easier low octave. Dan Awesome, thanks man!

Awesome! New flute. I'm very mediocre at the flute, but I can play a few things on it. I find a lot of Ian's "riffs" to be a bit hard to get down--probably because I'm not a natural. I don't know if you like their music, but the Marshall Tucker Band has plenty of great flute parts in their repertoire, most of which are very easy to play--they helped me a lot in getting a handle for the flute. I havn't heard of them, but I'll, for sure, give 'em a listen!

Yes! I've been that tune non stop. I find I get very light headed when I play the flute... I assume that was Ian's alternative to drugs. Yes that lightheadedness was a nice familiar feeling, it'll pass soon and you'll learn to control your breathing after a while, when to breath and how not to blow too hard and still get your tone. Just keep going until you conquer one then go after another. I have some video posted on a thread here, check it out, thejethrotullboard.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=musicians&action=display&thread=71&page=5 come to think of it Serenade is there and thats a fairly easy one to try. You will get frustrated but just push through it, keep going. Good luck Darin I gave Serenade a bit of a go... enjoyed playin along with it. I guess my dad noticed my great infatuation with Jethro Tull... and decided it was time I showed my inner Anderson. I have never played until now and have been playing for 3 hours.. I'm picking it up rather quick, and loving it! The oxygen high was awesome too, hahaha! My first attempts at playing an actual song consisted of "Tiger Toon" and "Bouree". I felt honored. If anyone has any tips, comments, or stories... please share!

I'm a little irritated at the fact that Germany gets to see Ian Anderson 12 times, but Canada doesn't get to see him even once.... It's sad for the Tull fans over here, like myself. I would love to see him... (There's no "sad face" option, on here.)

I couldn't help but notice how much Best Friends and Critque Oblique reminded me of Bowser from Super Mario. It's fierce attacking presence is just bang right. Share a similar thought?

It's a great idea because somebody has to have the desire and initiative to get it started. There would be negatives though that I'll follow with, not to discourage you, but rather to give you time to plan and prepare. You will need: -Money, ie your own. Enough for a big wedding. Hopefully you can recoup your costs by your ticket sales but there will be no guarantee -Banquet room reservation preferably at a popular and convenient hotel that can reserve a block of rooms at a special rate as well as alcohol service -Insurance (you will be responsible for any injuries, such as caused by a drunk) -Pay for transportation and accommodations by your entertainers or speakers. (they may play or perform for free but will expect expenses to be covered). -Catering upfront fees -advertising, signage, etc. -Plan to recoup cost from dealers/exhibitors that want to sell that bootleg cd from the Stormwatch tour I'm sure I left a few things out. I have been to but never planned a Tull convention, but know people who put on fan-run Star Trek conventions back in the day. Good luck. And as we all know.... Nothing Is Easy.

Thanks for the heads up, mate. Your list is a terrific "Reality Check". We should all start a ~Donation Page~, that way I don't have to pay for it!!!!! Muahahaha Not for anything but somehow I don't picture a female saying "Muahahaha". ...And that is why I only talk to people over the internet.

Yes! If Martin or Ian could somehow read this board and be like "Let's just make this happen, and create happier people," I would, definitely buy them dinner... or cook it myself. Yes, have them over... get them both drunk... Make them play music for me!I'm sure they'd enjoy that as much as I would. But for real, I must contact SOMEONE who has some sort of connection with Jethro Tull... or else, just post an invite on the Board, and have the convention in my basement.
